"We hired MH Construction for a kitchen renovation, and we are thrilled with their work! Mike and his team were excellent from start to finish. Mike kept in regular contact with us throughout the process, answering our questions and working out the design. He and his team were amazingly efficient, often getting more completed each day than we’d anticipated, and they were polite, professional, and always kept the work area clean and safe. They also went the extra mile and conscientiously fixed unexpected issues they found, including several smaller electrical and plumbing glitches. Best of all, we couldn’t be happier with the end product: our kitchen is beautiful and more functional than ever. We’ll recommend MH Construction to all of our friends, and we’d be delighted to hire them again in the future!"

"I had two exterior faucets that were leaking, know that I risked frozen pipes if I did not have them fixed, consulted you, selected the Zoom company that was at top of list. Tehir plumber showed up on time Monday Morning, I showed him the faucets, requested that he install new washers,he informed me that they were too old to repair, suggested frost free ones, and as I knew they had to be fixed before winter, I agreed (I am still trusting them because of their Angi rating) He informs he he will have to cut hole in the finished ceiling to access pipe to complete installation, I agrees, he cuts but cannot locate pipe, goes outside to look again, cuts another hole, still cannot find pipe. He then tells me that he cannot replace it because of how the pipes are installed. Then he goes to the back faucet and decided that he cannot replace that one either. Somewhere along the line, not telling me, he shut off all water to my house someplace in front lawn. He then proceeds to put new washers in each of the faucets, I observe him doing so in the front, and turn it on and off myself. At this point, he suggests a shut off valve for the back faucet, which I agree to, and he begins cutting a length from the pipe in the rafters. Now remember, He has been in the back several times, but apparently did not notice the gas grill installed five feet from the house. IAs I agreed to the shut off, go upstairs to wait while he cuts a section of the copper pipe which he thought was water, but really was the gas connection to the grill. I soon start smelling gas, inform him, he smells it too, had an immediate evacuation. At this point he walks away from me, turns his back, starts calling someone, informs me that he has to call the fire department and Spire gas company, while I am standing there without any warm clothing in the drizzle. Fire dept. begins to clear he interior air of my house of gas, gas person goes downstairs and caps the gas pipe, they put me in his truck with heater on so I cannot hear any of the things they are discussing. I am informed that they shut off the gas (NO FURNACE!) I had to get someone in there to check everything out before they could turn it back on . I contacted Rhymes heating and Cooling , they gave me a Tuesday morning appt, but fortunately for me later in the afternoon they were able to get their man out. About this time was when your company called to ask me how it went, I started the story, your person gave me the customer service number to contact. But the story is not over...the Rhymes guy spends two hours, even calling in colleague to assist, but cannot find any leak. They cut more holes in the ceiling to access the gas line going to the kitchen stove, cannot find anything. At this point, he asks me to call Spire to ask if they can come and pinpoint what needs to be fixed to get my gas on....they suspect it might be in the meter area, which they cannot touch. Spire agrees to send an emergency guy out. By this time, my mouth is so dry I desperately need water...there is nothing coming out of the faucets.!!! The Rhymes man calls the water company, who will send emergency call. At this point, it is about 4, I pay Rhymes $389 for two hours work, necessitated b the Zoom guy cutting the gas line. A bit later, the new Spire man comes, takes the meter apart, cannot find anything there, spends another hour+ checking everything out. The water company guy arrives, cannot find any problems indoors. Remember the Zoom guy turned off the water in the main shut off...he left without turning it back on!!! Water gets turned back on. The Spire man turns the gas back on, and they both leave sometime in the dark. Bottom line, the Zoom plumber was certainly not up to the job, did not even clean up the parts of the ceiling that fell to the floor, even questioned me about all my clothes hanging in the basement, what my husband thought of it, I advised him that I had been married to an abusive man who I divorced 50 years ago, costing me $389 bill to Rhymes, $465 to Zoom for two washers, a torn up ceiling. a nightmare of a day. the"

Boiler Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes. Boilers need water to run without overheating, also known as dry firing. If you run it without a sufficient volume of water, either because of a burst pipe or a leak, you run the risk of damaging your machine or jeopardizing the safety of your home as a whole. When in doubt, shut off your boiler and repair any plumbing issues before turning it back on. Alternatively, consider installing a low-water cutoff (LWCO) before any issues arise. This gadget will protect your boiler by monitoring water levels and automatically shutting it off if it gets too low.

A poorly maintained boiler can lead to serious issues like deadly carbon monoxide poisoning, so schedule regular maintenance services. Of course, it’s also a good idea to check your carbon monoxide detectors in your home to make sure they’re working properly. Moreover, when you forget to maintain your boiler, small problems can lead to something much more serious, which will cost you more money in the long run. Repairs average around $400, while a full replacement can total over $6,000.

The main difference between an outdoor wood furnace versus an outdoor wood boiler is what each appliance is heating. An outdoor wood furnace burns wood to create heat, which warms the air and moves it through the ducts in your home. An outdoor wood boiler uses the heat from burning wood to warm water, which goes through pipes to radiators in the home.

Safety concerns with propane boilers include proper venting to prevent carbon monoxide buildup, secure gas line connections, and regular inspection of safety controls. Professional boiler installation and annual maintenance are essential to minimize risks. Having a carbon monoxide detector installed in your home is essential for early detection of any leaks or ventilation issues.

The radiators closest in proximity to the boiler heating system will heat up first. Radiators in rooms farther away from the boiler will take longer to heat up and may be the coolest rooms in the house. The radiator unit itself should heat up evenly; otherwise, there may be trapped air inside it.
