Galmiche Sons Heating Cooling

My mothers Furnace that was 37 years old and air conditioner 25 years old start having issues trying to keep her home cool. I called Galmiche on June 24, 2024 and spoke to Jeff. He came out to her house and gave us the quote and stated they could install the new furnace and air conditioner on Wednesday June 26,2024. The installers did a FANTASTIC job. They had a very small confined area to work in ( a small closet) to install the furnace. The two gentlemen ( sorry I can’t remember their names) were very pleasant and went right to work without stopping for lunch. Cleaned up and hauled everything away. Thank you so much for the quick service and we love our new furnace that is very quite (located in her bedroom )and for the quiet air conditioner too. And let’s not forget the $1,050.00 rebate for purchasing the two products together Thank you, Sue

The installation and maintenance were poorly done. Connections to vents reduced airflow. The unit was mounted on beams, and when the pan went out of level, it leaked away from the shut-off switch, causing damage to the wood and ceiling underneath. A maintenance visit did not catch these issues, nor was the filter replaced. The door was left off the unit. The whole installation needs to be redone, but Galmiche only wants to do a bit of remediation.

We were so impressed with this company. Not only did they have the lowest price, but we got a great value! I took bids from at least 5 companies and they came in way below on cost. We got high efficiency on all of our new systems and were able to use a rebate to get even more money back. The work was quick, clean and is working beautifully. I called the owner with some questions regarding the new system and he was always willing to talk to me. I have referred them to many friends who have used their services too.

Everything went well. Overall I am happy with the project. Was expecting a call back to find out how the work went from the salesman but never received. The blower in the attic is very loud but works well.

We have used them for several years for like putting Freon in the air conditioner. That sort of things. We are highly pleased with them. They were comfortable with everybody else. It was the original furnace. It was forty something years old. They put a high efficiency one in. It was the same as most everybody else. That was including labor, I believe. It was amazing. They came over, and come back to fix an wiring that was very trivial. They came right away, and they took care of it right away. We have been in that situation several years ago. That is why we use them quite a few times. We knew they would be dependable and fair. They came by and brought all kinds of options, and brought brochures, and sat and took their time to talk to us. They explained everything. It wasn't an quickly, trying to sell you a type of thing. It was well done. I recommended them to family members over the years. They didn't do duct work. They took the entire old furnace and moved it. It was interesting, and put the new on in. Its nicer and quieter.

The technician arrived promptly, was courteous, and had all necessary equipment. He did a thorough inspection and cleaning of the ac unit. He left the work areas in good condition and took the time to explain everything he'd done.

I use them two times annually to come check and tune up my AC and furnace. I have been pleased with the service thus far.

They are coming next week to do our air conditioning service. We have had them for several years. They come out twice a year. We have a service contract with them. We sign it once a year and they don't charge for the maintenance. We really like them a lot. They come when they are suppose to. They are very good.

They were here in a hurry and got us back up and running on the hottest day of the year.

Contacted Galmiche for service maintenance agreement after an on site assessment, but no return contact emails and poor response to phone calls by staff. With hot weather descending on St Louis, told the firm had stopped all service maintenance agreements in favor of service calls. Very disappointed in courtesy return emails and inabilityntomgive a date or time as to when a service technician could service our HVAC.

They are reliable and readily available. If I have an emergency, they will come right out. Their pricing is average and their responsiveness is excellent.

We haven't had any problems with them. We had to have them come back a couple of times, because they didn't put something in properly. They were very quick to respond. They were fine. It was under warrantee that we got it replaced, because we had the home owners warrantee.

One of the owners of the companies called Jeff came and did the estimate and explained everything. They were very thorough before we even began work. I would recommend them. They were very competitive in price.

They had a good advertisement on the radio so I contacted them. They gave me a great price, and were very professional and quick. The installer has been with the company for 35 years. Everything was perfect.

He arrived promptly, however, when we looked at the ac unit outside, it was overgrown with weeds...(my mother has been sick with colon cancer all summer and had recently passed away so i hadn't paid any attention to the ac)...i told him that, and i provided him a set of clippers to help cut away the overgrowth. the first thing he said to me was this was going to cost me more than the 30 min diagnostic, i replied that was fine, i just wanted the ac to work. he fixed everything just fine, told me that the diagnostic was about 90.00 and that he would have to charge me 30.00 to do the weeding around it, however, he was cursing in front of me, not very professional, and then had to add freon, which i expected, and he told me the cost of the condenser that he said was shot. I mentioned that there was a coupon on angie's list where i got his company information, and he said that was fine if i wanted to print it...which i did, but i did not realize it was expired...it had a date of 09/30/13 instead of 09/30/14. i don't know if it was a typo or if they just left an expired coupon on the website, but he did not offer to ok the use of it anyway, and even told me that they don't like angie's list, that i should use the bbb instead. so i give them an A for repairing my problem (the ac is working great now) but a d for customer service.

As previously mentioned, there was a small leak of condensation on one of two units in the basement of my rental property. The other unit had a similar leak the previous year and I had to replace the drip tray which was cracked. I suspected something similar or possibly a clogged drain plug. it had been leaking for a week or two since the start of hot whether and I was hoping my service guy would be able to look at it, but when my vacation was approaching in early July, I thought I would have someone look at it. Galmiche sent out a tech name Tony who looked young, but didn't give it much thought until his actions had me a bit worried. He was not in my presence for more than 10 minutes when he started bad mouthing the client he had just visited, stating how that client was cursing the dispatcher and went as far to say the client called him a "white boy" (racial slur if you get my drift). At this point I ask how long has he been with Galmiche and he said 3 months. More cause for concern, but he insisted that he was trained by someone who had forgotten more than he would ever know. After inspecting the furnace with no clear resolution, he went outside to the condenser unit and made some adjustments and tests of the lines and refrigerant. He found nothing and stated the until was in perfect working condition (even stated on the invoice). If the problem persists call them back. Within 24 hours my tenant is contacting me stating the air conditioner is blowing hot air. So, I call Galmiche back and ask them what they did that it would now no longer be working. They couldn't say and sent the same tech back out the next day. I arrived 10 minutes after he did and he was already "testing" the condenser in the back yard. My tenant had been there to meet him. After 15 minutes of total testing he declared I needed a new condenser for the cost of $1500 or a whole new AC until for around $1800. At this point I knew I was being screwed. I said I would get another opinion and would get back to Galmiche. At this time, the tech went over to the AC unit and was putting the panel back on when I see him discharging refrigerant out of what was now a bad unit. I looked at my tenant and back again to the tech and he is letting more refrigerant out. At this time I asked my tenant if he saw that and he said the tech actually had done it before I arrived as well (that's not legal). I called Galmiche to have another tech come out to get a second opinion from them and to be sure to call me so I am there when he does his review. He did his review, but did not call me so I could be there. He also said the unit was bad. I asked why the other tech would be releasing refrigerant into the air (against the law) and he shuffled and said I should call the owner. Which I did three weeks ago and have not heard back despite repeated attempts within three days of the unit going out. After three days I left for a three week vacation. Now I am back and letting it be known that you can determine for yourself whether you would want to do business with these people. In my opinion, Galmiche in some way caused damage to my AC unit, enough to cause fatal malfunction. A unit that has been professionally maintained does not just breakdown 24 hours after a tech declared it was in perfect working condition. Use Galmiche at your own risk.

They are the best in town. We use them all the time. They have always managed to do short cuts to save us money. They were punctual and professional. I recommend them to any body and I did already. They have done an awesome job.

Last summer, the thermostat was stuck and was saying "hold". I knew it needed to be reset but didnt know how to do it so i called their office. Lady was rude to me, I insisted the owner call me. He did but would not tell me how to reset it. He said I had to pay him $79 to come reset it. I finally located the booklet and it was nothing but hit the button twice on the thermostat. the owner wanted to rip me off for 79.00 service call. Owner was also rude to me and totally unhelpful. Will not do business with them again. Shame on them.

Galmiche was one of the few HVAC providers that returned our calls! Once they contacted us, the owner (Jeff) came out and provided a thorough, written estimate to replace our dated furnace and air. On top of the quality of the system (Lennox), the price was far less than anyone else who submitted an estimate. Chris, the technician who performed the installation was courteous and punctual. The work was done in less than a day and that included a stop for lunch with me and my wife! The return trip to commission our system was just as painless as the installation. I would definitely (and have already) suggested Galmiche to anyone who needs top quality, punctual service!

They repaired my air conditioner. They responded immediately when contacted. Very easy people to work with. Very flexible. They do not try to sell you something that you don't need. Very good heating and cooling provider. I would recommend these people to everyone!
