"Samuel was very thorough and did a great job! I didn’t get a good report but I would definitely hire him again. I talked with him today and he was so kind as he was Saturday. Great young man!"

"Troy Galloway did an awesome job inspecting our new home. He provided us with a very thorough report and was even available for multiple follow-up questions. On top of that, he was by far the most affordable of the quotes I received. He was such a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process. Highly recommend."

Small jobs welcome

"Jacob was pleasant to work with. We had a rehab project; the foundation of the place had some issues instead of charging us for the entire project upfront (structural inspection report and drawings). Jacob provided great insights, including a structural inspection report; this enabled us to engage with foundation contractors to get estimates for the needed repairs and evaluate if the repair costs made sense to continue with the project or not. If it does not, no worries; if we want to move forward, he will come back to measure and do the drawings. This helped us out big time."

"Needed basement/crack repair. We had water coming in the walls and from the floor of our finished basement. This company was timely in scheduling the initial inspection, prompt in e-mailing an estimate, and had the lowest estimate out of two we obtained. They showed up as scheduled, worked hard and were very professional. After the work was initially completed, we experienced a small "weeping" problem with the French drain system. They promptly came back out and made adjustments to the slope of the drain at no further cost. Six months, and several very heavy rains later, our basement remains completely dry. Highly recommend this company."

"Tim and his crew at Triton Exteriors are awesome! My roof was damaged by a large tree branch during a storm at the end of June. I had used Triton for a roof inspection a few years earlier and was impressed. I got three bids from roofing companies and selected Triton even though they weren’t the cheapest. Tim came out to meet me when my insurance adjuster was here. He was able to persuade him to include more money for damages to the interior and the basement. Even though the insurance company only paid for the back slope to be replaced, I elected to have the entire roof replaced with the architectural shingles. Tim met with me to review shingle colors, and also arranged for Marshall to repair the interior damage. He was at my house when the roofers were here, and had excellent follow-through to make sure I was happy. I whole-heartedly recommend Triton."

"They advocated for me with my Home Insurance to get it covered. They did an excellent, professional job and finished in one day. Any time I contacted them they responded the same day. The roof looks great! I am picky and not easily impressed, but I was 100 % satisfied and impressed with ASHE & WINKLER RESTORATION !"

"We had a new roof and gutters installed. From the first contact it was a stellar experience. Mark answered many questions his first visit and even looked in the attic to assess the roof from underneath. We had a 30 yr old shingles over the original 20 yr old roof; 2 layers. He quickly came back with the quote, showed us the products and explained what new innovations have occurred since our last install. Had financing options for us to look at and all his preparation led us to using his company. The loan only took 5 minutes to approve. The crew was fabulous and the cleanup was exceptional. The same can be said for the gutter guys. And Mark was here to oversee that things were going well. He wants to do business with you. Overall his company deserves a 10 star rating!"

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

It's smart to schedule a foundation inspection after a significant drought, especially if you suspect new problems in your home's structure, such as cracks or uneven floors. Be sure to hire a certified contractor to inspect your foundation, particularly one that specializes in foundations or home inspections. Catching potential problems early on can help you avoid costly repairs in the long run.

Older homes normally take longer to inspect than newer ones. Old homes are more prone to damage, deterioration, or outdated systems and features, and an inspector will need to note the condition of the home and anything in it that may need to be updated or repaired.

A convenient method to verify your warranty status is by visiting the manufacturer's website and entering your unit's serial number. The relevant information should promptly appear. However, if it doesn't, there's a possibility that you may have unintentionally voided the warranty by neglecting to register your equipment at the time of installation. If you did register and need help finding the information, you may need to call the manufacturer's customer support team.

Most lenders and homeowner’s insurance companies don’t mandate a structural engineer’s inspection, so in most cases, it’s not required. However, it’s a good idea to have one done anyway to ensure you know what you’re buying. You can use the report to carry out repairs after closing or even to negotiate the sale price before closing.

The time it takes to complete a pre-drywall inspection depends on the size of the home as well as the complexity of its build. Most take between one and three hours, but large custom homes or those with complicated HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems take even longer. Your inspector will examine each room and each system in detail to make sure everything is properly installed and up to code.
