"Arrived on time. Gave recommendation to fix the gas line and the results were great. Looks good and no leak. Also worked on a laundry drain line. To replace it would have been overly expensive so he recommended replacing with a standpipe line to the floor drain. That also works great, and he also cut off and capped it. Courteous, professional and reasonably priced."

"Technician was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done to replace a sump pump and moving some of the PVC drain pipe. Everything was completed to my satisfaction and in the time estimated."

"I want to thank Hosack Plumbing, and Kent, for getting my situation cleaned up quickly and professionally. My water heater install is perfect, my water pressure spot on thanks to the new PRV, and is ready for inspection. Kent was thorough, professional, and very clean. He noticed my mask when I answered the door and wore a kn95 mask the whole time. The life coaching advice was an added bonus. Kent's work was great and I'm very pleased with the service provided."

"The owner of Atlas Foundations assessed my 75 year old home that had a wet basement with every rain since I purchased it in 2020. I compared his recommendation to 4 other foundation repair companies and chose to go with Atlas for their fair price, knowledge on the matter, good reviews & responsiveness. Although I could not wait to get this repair behind me so I could settle into my home completely, reduce mold exposure and not come home from work after a rainy day to shop vac water from the floor, I dreaded this week long repair. The foreman, James Watson and his crew showed up every day on time or early, patiently answered any and all of my questions, accommodated my smallest requests and made this stressful home repair go smoothly. My project included exterior excavation, exterior drain placement and carbon fiber straps inside. I admit that I am a picky clean freak and they guys did a nice job cleaning up behind themselves and were respectful of my property. I thoroughly interviewed 4 other foundation companies most of whom could get to my costly job "pretty quickly." Atlas had a 4 month wait and I am glad I waited. In my opinion, Woods Basement System, and Helitech Waterproofing are high pressure young sales people who want to "patch" a foundation issue rather than resolve it. Danneger & Son's Foundation was my next choice based on experience & reputation, but they wanted to charge TWICE what Atlas Foundations did. And the good news is, it rained for a week after Atlas Foundations did my repair & I have not had 1 drop of water in my basement. Thank you Atlas Foundations, Mike, Kim & James and crew!"

"The service was okay. They were not late when they came out and were very nice. Their initial response was very fast. They were busy so they told me upfront that it would take them a month to do it and they did it. With the first repair man, he did it very fast but it did not work out and there were still leaks. So, I called them back and it was like summer vacation time so it took them longer and there was another delay but they said that they would do it. And then, they rescheduled it fast the second time but it took them almost around three or four weeks again to do it. They came and did it again the second time and the repair man thought that that was what they had to do and there were no other options to do it because he thought that that will be the end of the process because they do not see any other reason for it. After the repair, it worked fine and their response was very appropriate but then there was still some humidity. The repair man said that it is good to leave it for a time before we can see if it works or not and then I have not called them back. It was like I paid them a good amount for the repair man and at the end he said that it would be fine but it was still humid. So, I am ambivalent with the service because the process was very expensive and it was not resolved. So, I got another person that knows and we tried to figure out a different way and not just only putting what they referred that were the certain drains and whatever. They did it the way that they knew how to do it, however, the problem was not completely resolved at the end. And we had to open other spaces and tried to figure out why there was still humidity. They said, "Well, maybe it is coming from here." And we ended up doing a little bit of more projects on it again to try to resolve it. I decided to add a little bit on something. It was not arranged so I paid for an extra. It was more expensive than what I expected from other companies. I went with the deal because I thought that it was perfect and I wanted to get rid of the leak but it was around $7,000 for that. And I did not get a good result so I had to find somebody else because I did not see any other way to do it. I think that they did what they were supposed to but I was not completely happy that it was not resolved. What we figured out was that there was potentially a drain through one of the walls that was not attached to the french drain and we changed the walls in one side of the house with cements and everything so that there will be no water that can pass through and after that the humid was gone. Roberts Foundation did not go the extra mile to figure out what the problem really was but they gave me a warranty that the basement was waterproofed for the rest of my life. I would probably not use them again in the future."

"Tried to rush three days of work into two days, didn't work. Still waiting for someone to return and seal the discharge pipes. Felt like they sent labor ready guys to do the job, I expected at least the foreman to be seasoned. Nevertheless the young men worked hard within their skill set. If you are thinking of outdoor gutter drains just get a landscaper to do it. Overall looking at the quality of the work, for the price I would of got the same service from a less expensive company."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

To keep window wells from filling up with water, you need to stay on top of maintenance. Remove debris as it fills up, and regularly loosen the gravel at the base if it’s become compacted. You can also reslope your yard to make sure water flows away from the window well (and your home’s foundation), and you can even install a window well cover to prevent debris from building up. Installing an actual drainpipe at the base of the well can also prevent window well drainage problems.

A saturated leach field can result from various underlying issues, so it's best to call a professional septic company to diagnose and treat the problem. Depending on the cause of the saturation, potential fixes include pumping out a full septic tank, adding more bacteria to the tank, or regrading the soil to fix low spots. It may also be necessary to reroute rainwater and runoff away from the leach field using gutters, downspouts, and extenders. Once the primary issue is resolved, planting specific types of vegetation over the area can help absorb excess water. In more severe cases, you might need to install a larger septic tank or replace the leach field entirely.

Once you’ve poured the baking soda and vinegar into a drain, you should wait about 10 minutes for the mixture to break down the clog. If you try the baking soda and vinegar method and it doesn't work, you can do it again or try the baking soda and salt trick.

Yes, you can use vinegar to unclog a dishwasher. To do so, combine 4 tablespoons of white vinegar with 4 tablespoons of baking soda and pour the mixture down your dishwasher’s drain. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then pour a cup of hot water down the drain to flush everything out. Finally, run a rinse cycle on your dishwasher to see if the clog is gone.

Yes—your local septic company can clean your septic leach lines with a sewer jetter, a device that pumps high-pressure water through the lines to blast out any clogs and scum buildup. Unless there’s a clog or blockage in the lines, however, you do not need to perform this maintenance regularly. Do not attempt to clean your own leach lines, as you could easily damage them, leading to very costly repairs.
