"First the problem was identified. I thought I had only 1 crack, but I was only seeing the "relief" crack. The big crack in the foundation was hidden behind wood paneling. The work was done to fix the cracks & provide proper foundation drainage. Because the main crack was around part of the basement window casing, at my request, they replaced the window. Also @ my request, they replaced my sump pump (which was about 20 years old). The work was very professional. They were prompt, thorough, very neat; the work was done in about 2 & 1/2 days.  Everything was explained to me. The added work was my idea, not something even brought up or "pushed" by the company. When the problem was identified, all possible solutions were discussed. I was very pleased with the work done. It has been a year and a half since the work was completed, and my basement is dry, the cracks remain sealed, and I have a very nice looking new basement window.

"I saw them in the neighborhood, so I got their details and they gave me an estimate. They were re-repairing a crack from 20 years ago. They did their work and cleaned up afterward. I waited until after 3 or 4 serious rain storms before this comment. The basement still dry. No seepage through the cracks. I should have called them a long time ago."

"Perfect experience! Life Outdoors crew started and ended on-time and did a fabulous job. They re-did my front lawn after I had the lawn dug up to install a backflow valve and fix a water leak. The law looks better than new now. Life Outdoors crew are highly experienced and dependable. The job they did was second to none from start to finish. If you have a landscaping job in mind, I highly recommend them."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

No. You should dispose of all oil-based finishing products through a local hazardous waste program. Not only can oil-based finishes be hazardous for the environment if disposed of in the sink, but they can cause clogs in your pipes and stop up your drains. Most municipal garbage or waste disposal companies have a specific location or pick-up schedule for hazardous materials, so that’s your best bet to get rid of excess finishing products.

It is safe to flush small amounts of bleach down the toilet. Don’t flush more than ¼ cup of bleach. Instead, consider diluting it and pouring it down the sink drain.

It’ll take 20 to 30 minutes to unclog a sewer line using a drain snake or drain cleaner. If you hire a professional, you should expect them to be on-site for three hours or less. In addition to clearing the clog, they’ll do other routine inspections, which adds to the overall time (and cost) required.

A small amount of diluted bleach is okay to pour down a garbage disposal. As part of your weekly garbage disposal maintenance, use 1 teaspoon of bleach with your concoction of ice cubes and lemon peels. Turn on the disposal and run the water until the blades chop up the ice cubes.

Any more bleach in your disposal can harden oils and greases in your drain, which can cause problems. Always wear gloves when working with bleach, and know that you really don’t need bleach at all—vinegar, baking soda, salt, and ice should do the trick.

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.
