To replace it would have been overly expensive so he recommended replacing with a standpipe line to the floor drain. That also works great, and he also cut off and capped it. Brian made a point of showing me the camera footage of the main drain. The did a great job on the main and two other drains. They also cleaned up very well when they were done. "We had a (finished) basement that was leaking water during heavy rain. I solicited bids from four different companies, all of which proposed to do basically the same thing. Atlas was not only the cheapest, but they also said they could do it without tearing out the drywall or installing a sump pump (they saddled the drain system onto the main sewer line and added a backflow valve -- in the city, the waste and storm sewers are combined). Mike, the owner, was very friendly and James, the team leader, was very professional and helpful. The basement has gone a year -- including through the torrential downpours of December 2015 -- without leaking. There was some persistent leaking around the egress window. They had installed a drain pipe in the bottom of it and tied it into the rest of the perimeter drain system. It has leaked a little bit, and Atlas has come out 4 different times before concluding that the rain is hitting the shoddily-installed window and leaking in. I like knowing how things work, so Mike showed me exactly what was happening and -- despite my initial uncertainty -- I'm convinced it is the window. But since they happily came out repeatedly to check out and test the issue, I'm convinced that they'll honor their 20-year warranty."

"The company sent out a salesman to try and sell an interior drain tile and sump pump. I told him I wanted ideas and a plan for keeping my basement waterproof.  The company representative failed to do a proper investigation to try and find out a solution.  In this case I had water coming into the basement from my chimney but he didn't even shine his flashlight up the chimney to see the problem.  Instead he recommending drain tile across the ENTIRE perimeter of my basement even though I told him 2/3 of it had never seen water.

"I had a sump pump installed (fall 2022), along with drainage channels and a moisture barrier in one of corner of my basement. The sump pump has a battery backup system too. Install was done very professionally. They worked with me to finance the project through a 0% loan which was a nice feature. There was an issue in spring of 2023. They came promptly, diagnosed a bad pump and replaced free of charge. Recently the pump alarm kept going off intermittently. Got a repair tech scheduled to come out same week. He found a issue with how the alarm was placed and replaced that part. Both times that I had issues, thetechs were very knowledgeable and informed me further about how the system works. I would highly recommend this company for water issues."
