He said that he did not know what to do about it and he charged me for a service call. He left and did not fix anything. So, I went on the internet, which he had the internet too since he had a laptop computer in his vehicle, and I found the schematics that I needed and I troubleshot the system myself. I went to a hardware store, bought the part that I needed and repaired it myself after he left and said that he could not repair it and I am not a heating and air man. The problem was that the heating elements in the heater unit would come on but they would not go off. It was like even after the temperature got up to where it was supposed to be in the house and the blower motor kicked off, the heating elements still stayed on and kept heating up and so I shut off the breaker to it and everything. The thing was that usually there is a schematic diagram on the cover to the heater unit but the schematic had faded and crumpled up and sort of fell off and he could not read it. He claimed that without a schematic, he could not troubleshoot. So, I took the serial numbers of the unit, the model number, the manufacturer and stuff and I went online and it took me about 15 or 20 minutes online but I found the schematics. I downloaded them and printed them. I have an Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance and I just tracked out the schematics and saw where there was a thermal switch on there. I took the thermal switch off and tested it. I went to a home center for plumbing, electrical, heating and all that and they sold me a switch exactly like it. I took it home and installed it and it worked. The main thing was that since I had a manufactured home, when he got there and saw that it was a manufactured home, it was like he could not get out of there fast enough."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ar/springdale/paschal-air%2C-plumbing-and-electric-reviews-4558085.htm"},"position":4},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Tony LaMartina Plumbing Company Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MO","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Nathaniel M."},"reviewBody":"The entire process was a pleasure and went very smoothly. Scheduling was simple and straightforward, and all employees at Tony LaMartina were a pleasure to interact with. The company uses a nice electronic system to handle both scheduling and invoicing -- much more modern and up-to-date than most contractors I've worked with in the past. The installation was of good quality, and the installer was courteous, informed, committed to doing a good job. He also used noticeably better parts than other plumbers I've worked with in the past, which was a very nice surprise. We've had no problems with the new plumbing since it was installed a few months ago, and I would not hesitate to hire Tony LaMartina Plumbing Co. again. In fact, I'm planning to give them a call in a couple of months to have some additional plumbing work done in our basement -- it's really great to find a plumber I know I can rely on to do a good, professional job.

She gave me some rough numbers on the phone but told me if I wanted an actual plumber to come out and price the jobs, it would cost me. The only way to avoid the charge was to pay for some work while the guy was here. I won't pay for an estimate. Both of the plumbing jobs I called for could be simple fixes or, in my old house with very old plumbing, could explode into a much larger project that I would be forced to let Aries complete or stuck with nonworking plumbing while waiting for estimates from other companies. I turned to Angie's List and from it called this Ed Bellm plumbing company. The receptionist sent me to another female and when I asked questions about pricing, locations etc. I got a terribly, defensive response from the female I was transferred to. When I finally thought I had an opportunity to explain/talk, she simply hung up on me . . . . I wouldn't use this company if they were giving their services away free, nor would I ever refer anyone to them.
I have a fiduciary responsibility to my clients and was simply trying to find a plumbing company I could refer people to with confidence. That always requires me to ask questions of them as well as check them out by whatever means I have available to me, ie Angie's List, other agents, and other contractors I know and trust. If someone is this defensive/sensitive I don't want to have anything to do with them; there must be a reason they are being defensive and I don't want to run the risk of finding out why. . . .
Before I called this plumbing contractor I had just interviewed an electrical contractor who had been referred to me by my electrical contractor and whom I checked out on Angie's List as well. They are going to do work at an out of state client's property for me this Thursday or Friday. My electrical company, whom I've worked with for 15+ years, didn't renew his license in Jefferson County so he recommended someone else, I checked them out on Angie's List and hired them, after interviewing them and liking their answers and feeling good about them . . . . . . . . . We've had several HVAC companies in the past few years, and Kirkwood Heating & Cooling was definitely the most honest, professional, and fair we've dealt with. No questions they will be who we use from now on.

"I scheduled a tune-up service for my AC for 9-12 o'clock. At 11:35, I called to see if they were still coming, and she tells me 'sorry, the tech is running behind. He will be there closer to 1:00'. I accepted that, then waited until after 1:00 to call them again, only to find out the tech was still an hour away, working on another job. I thought the whole point of a service 'window' was to provide flexibility for the tech in case they get held up. I had to leave my house by 2:30, so I canceled the appointment. I took out an entire day for absolutely nothing."

"I cannot recommend Kirkwood Plumbing/Mr. Rooter anymore after my experience. I called because the copper pipe on my water heater (I believe the temperature and pressure valve) would leak when we took a shower. The plumber they sent was very nice and told me that he discovered the issue was a failed PRV. He said that when multiple faucets ran at the same time, the pressure was reduced and that meant the PRV failed. I even asked if this would fix the leaking copper pipe on the water heater and he said yes. He quoted me $785 to replace and although that seemed a bit high, I agreed. He left and got the part, came back and replaced it. Well, when he was done with that replacement he said he “looked closer at the water heater” and actually my expansion tank had ALSO failed and was mostly water when it should be air. Only he just looked and discovered this after doing $800 of work??? And oh the pipe between the water tank and expansion tank had been leaking at some point but was not now. He recommended a new expansion tank and replacing that pipe section. He quoted me an additional almost $700 to do that job!!! And told me that the leaking from the water heater would not be fixed until he also did this. He said he thought the PRV had failed causing the expansion tank to fail and he would need to go out to get a new expansion tank too. He apologized for not realizing that sooner he said. This is completely unacceptable. At this point I’m essentially held hostage by your company to complete the job as the already $785 would not have fixed the leak as told. I told the plumber it’s disappointing because if I knew it was a much bigger issue I would have likely gotten other quotes, and in addition, I don’t feel like I could really trust him or the company at this point. I agreed to do the expansion tank for an additional $271 and would wait for the pipe to be fixed since it was not currently leaking and only showed signs of leaking in the past. I will never again use this company and will make sure to spread my experience. While doing some jobs you may discover additional issues, this wasn’t the case here. All he had to do was test the expansion tank (which is apparently a common failure for temperature and pressure valve issues) BEFORE starting the job and give me a quote for the actual fix. Not do an expensive job saying it will fix the issue and then saying that it wouldn’t fix it after. He even said it was his mistake. Again, he was very polite, but it is completely unacceptable to essentially hold your customers hostage halfway through a job saying the first fix wouldn’t even fix the problem, after doing it. I’ve since learned that the expansion tank should have immediately been tested for this issue and that it was rather backward to check the PRV first, as the expansion tank is often the culprit in these cases and that considering he said that it was mostly water rather than air, it would have been easy to diagnose. As for the PRV, with the water off it maintained 60psi and dropped 10-20 points when two faucets were on, which I have since learned may also be normal operation and not needing replaced. I’m not sure if this is how all customers are treated or just women customers. My advice is do not use this company. They respond quickly but will gouge you and not provide upfront pricing. He could have saved himself two trips out (making this take much longer) as well as given me upfront pricing had he just “looked at the water heater closer” the first time- you know the apparatus I called them out for in the first place. Offering “upfront pricing” is clearly not something they do. I now feel like I paid $785 for a service I did not need when I really just needed a new expansion tank and could have paid for that/fixed that without replacing the PRV and checked to see if that fixed the problem. I even told him I did not have pressure issues. Beware for unneeded services at a high cost and not adequately diagnosing the problem or even investigating until AFTER finishing unnecessary work."

"Extremely customer service experience. The representative I dealt with was not only unhelpful but also came across. As both judgmental and lacking professionalism when I asked clear questions about pricing I received vague misleading answers. They scheduled an appointment that I had agreed upon for one o'clock pm but no one show up or call. Instead I received a text for 1 o'clock pm.; When I called to let them know The situation and the pricing they have changed their answer from 1 -3pm and told me that there was a fee that would be applied. When I asked a follow up question the Rep. hung up on me. The overall behavior was unprofessional and extremely biased based on demographic that they choose not to served. I would expect more transparency, respect and communication."

FAQs for plumbing and heating service projects in Oakland, MO
The average cost to install a new water heater is around $1,300, but you can expect to pay between $875 and $1,750, depending on the kind of water heater, the size of the unit, and the professional chosen to complete the work. Tankless water heaters can push your price higher, as installation is more complicated, with prices as high as $3,500.
