We had Roger and several other masonry contractors out in the spring to give bids on the above described work, and were surprised by how high all the quotes were, so we decided to hold off doing the work until later in the year. While Rogers Masonry was not the lowest of the bids, it was competitive. But what really made Roger stand out over the several months between bidding and hiring was his clear knowledge about, and genuine passion for, the work that he does (he's been in the business since 1976 and his lead crew member has been with him for 20 years!). "I hired Luke to fill windows wells that we wanted to eliminate. He was thorough in explaining the process to me and was even able to give me a bid using pictures I had sent him (due to COVID-19 we were/are trying to reduce exposure). So many of our home projects that we have tackled with contractors have had some sort of issue (joys of a fixer upper). However, this project went off without a hitch. "We received bids from Artistic Landscapes and one other provider. We were impressed by Chris's professionalism and his design. We also thought his pricing was very fair. This patio project was completed in two days, and the results were absolutely amazing. Chris's team arrived promptly in the morning, were extremely respectful of the space, worked extremely hard, and cleaned up after themselves. I was particularly impressed that after completing the patio, two members of his team returned to place new sod and grass around the patio where the machine had torn up the grass, the painstaking effort they put into making it fit the curves of the new patio, and, again, the cleanup. The attention to detail was very impressive--I even saw some of Chris's workers on their hands and knees making small chips in the antique-looking, rustic stones we chose to make it look more authentic.
