I first hired him because he was the only one who quickly recognized the unique bricks needed for the repair I requested, and he did such an amazing job with the repair that we did not paint over his work (which makes this the only unpainted brickwork in our home's exterior). I subsequently hired him to repair the exposed areas of our limestone foundation, which had decayed considerably over the decades. Again, he did a great job. After doing this, he suggested some maintenance to my exterior which I would not have even noticed. "Our project was actually a crawlspace encapsulation. We have a lake cabin that was built in the 1960's. It had a dirt floor in the crawlspace with bare block masonry foundation walls. It also had old, damp batt insulation that was falling down from the joist spaces. American Waterworks came in, removed the old insulation (a nasty job!), laid down a 2 layer moisture barrier system and spray foamed the foundation walls and rim joist area. I can't believe what a difference this has made to our air quality, much warmer floors. We used to have to wipe down the windows every morning during the winter because of condensation. Not any more! I would highly recommend this company if you have the same needs!!"
"I had a second masonry company out several days after Aurora finished, for a non-related issue. I asked them, as a professional in the industry, what they thought of Aurora's work. He told me that the surface finish was top-notch, and seemed like a really professional job. He did say that Aurora probably should have added an expansion joint where the poured concrete abuts existing brickwork to allow for any shifting over time, but that it probably wouldn't cause any issues.
This is the only reason for the B grade on Quality instead of A's across the board. Otherwise, a really well done job. Several days later, the seal-coat crew came out and did the asphalt work. It's only been a few days, but the work seems very much up to par with seal-coating I've had done through other firms in the past. Friendly crews. All materials were cleaned and the area was marked off to prevent us driving into the area. Both crews arrived when the scheduler said they would, and finished in a timely fashion."
