"Todd and his crew did an excellent job. Our interior had not been repainted in over 20 years, so there was a great deal of patching and prep needed. We couldn't be happier- they were meticulous, and the house looks new again. We will be using Shelton Painting again in the spring for kitchen cabinet refinishing."

Customers say: Super punctual

"This was the second project we’ve done with Alan and crew. They painted the exterior of our home two years ago, and now almost the entire interior. Everything about the process was exceptional. Communication about every aspect of the job was great as was the workmanship and the clean-up. Getting nearly the whole interior painted at once is a disruptive process, but I’m not sure it could have gone better. To quote our 7-yr old, “Wow! This looks great…. Bravo!” Thank you Alan and team, great work!"

"Jose was incredible. Needed to refresh my interior and exterior paint as getting ready to list my house. Jose was fast in showing up for a bid, gave a quote on the spot, and started work within a couple of days. He is kind, on time, does an amazing job and quote can’t be beat. I highly recommend Jose for your painting job, big or small."

"I hired Jamie to paint the interior of my garage; however, since my garage was over 30 years old and had never been painted, more work was needed. When Jamie came out to give me an estimate, I knew I had found the right person with his background as a contractor. Drywall needed repair, as well as retaping, mudding, sanding, priming, sealing, and painting. Jamie was professional, knowledgeable, honest, dependable, and friendly. I am so glad I hired Jamie; his work was superb. I highly recommend him."

The paint was in pretty rough shape.
The polyurethane has darkened over the years. You can see where pictures were hung.
Quite a bit of scraping on the lower portions of the porch trim.
Fence is in good shape, but heavily greyed by the sun

"I needed my garage painted within a month because the old paint was peeling badly and Brian was very responsive and friendly. He was out in a couple of days for an estimate and took a couple of paint chips to match the paint. He provided great customer service. He completed the job when he said he would and my garage now looks terrific."

"I have used AA Painting twice now to paint the interior of two different townhomes. I would totally use AA again. Don did a great job at recommending colors for me. The team was quick, efficient and most of all did a quality job. I am very happy."

"Harald Christiansen is a painter who lives in Rio Rancho, NM. Recently Harold painted the interior of my house. I can't say enough good things about the job he did. Harold took a great deal of care in his work and was very thorough in all aspects of the job. Before starting painting, he was also very open to my ideas, and or suggestions. Throughout the job, he communicated anything that needed to be changed or addressed along the way so there were no surprises. Also, I felt him to be very honest in all his dealings with me. I felt very fortunate to have had such a positive experience in getting my house painted."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on paint type, surface condition, labor, and required prep work for repainting.

While a pressure washer is certainly powerful enough to remove old and peeling paint, this is not a great idea to do yourself. The pressure washer is so powerful that you could actually damage the walls as you strip away the paint. It’s best to leave paint stripping to the pros.

Yes, you can pressure wash epoxy floors, but you must take precautions to avoid damaging the surface. While most epoxy floors can be cleaned with a mop, you might choose to pressure wash if the floor is stained, has ground-in dirt, or is covered with mold or mildew. To do so safely, first soak any stains or dirty areas with a gentle cleanser. Use a lower pressure setting with a gentle nozzle, such as a green, white, or black tip, or a 45-degree angled tip. Keep the spray nozzle at least 18 inches away from the floor to protect the surface. Using a surface cleaner attachment or a rotary scrubber can also help prevent overspray. Be cautious if using a power washer that heats the water, as the combination of heat and pressure may be too powerful and could damage the epoxy coating.

Sometimes you can get away with simply sanding and painting over small areas of peeling paint. However, the problem will likely return quickly, and the ridge between old and new paint will be visible. If you just need a quick fix and won't worry about appearance, chip away the peeling paint as much as possible, prime and paint the area, and skip the spackle step.

Sanding surfaces, repairing damage, cleaning thoroughly, and using quality primers are all steps you can take for exterior home painting.
