"It was great from start to finish.  I called Monday afternoon and was connected to a voice message.  Gregg, the owner/installer called back within 15 minutes.  We discussed repair or replace and contacting the insurance company.  Gregg gave me the direct number for the insurance company's windshield repair specialists.  Gregg then scheduled the work for the next morning.  He arrived at the appointed time and quickly replaced the damaged windshield.

"Had them remove a stained glass window with the expectation of needing to put in something new. I was happy to learn I didn t need anything new. Mike was professional and took care of my old window removal quickly and with little to no mess that he cleaned up. He even gave advice for moving forward with sealing it further. Thank you!"

"Called to make an appointment to get an estimate of the work and they were friendly on the phone and in person.  We were willing to get Doug to come out within a few days and schedule the work within a week.  Very happy with how fast and professional the workers were in getting the huge mirrors off the walls and out of the house.  We plan to use them again when remodeling our master bath and putting in a glass shower door.

"He was on time and quick. He did good work. I was upset with the builder of my late model foreign car for their proprietary behavior. That makes it difficult for me to work on it, so I specifically asked for a Generic windshield. The sound insulation is better so that I don't hear outside noises (ie, trucks, Harleys) as much. Unfortunately, I can now hear squeeks and rattles. I was pleased indeed."

"They completed work on the schedule agreed to and did an excellent job. Finding a company with good experience with installing glass tiles was difficult, but I was glad I choose to have someone who was experienced with glass tiles do the work. By purchasing the grout and doing the sealing myself, I was able to get the original bid reduced."

"We used Plumbline for a remodel of our 1980 kitchen and main level. We moved walls, closets, updated wiring, custom cabinets, new paint and ceilings. As well as new flooring and lighting. They had their work cut out for them with our wiring as well as some other aspects. The process went so smoothly and the final product is amazing! Roger and all his guys were great to work with and communication was on point."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

New glass costs anywhere from $3 to $100 per square foot. More specifically, tempered and insulated glass—a common option for sliding glass doors—costs between $10 and $14 per square foot.

Regular cleaning with non-abrasive cleaners helps prevent buildup and maintains clarity.

Most installations take 1-3 days, depending on the number of blocks and customization requirements.

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.

Although glass block windows are made of multiple layers of thick glass, they can still break. If an individual block shatters, it can be removed and replaced, but this is a job for a window repair professional. The project is often complex and may require breaking the block further for removal. Do not attempt to handle it yourself, as the broken glass can be dangerously sharp. A professional will have the necessary tools and expertise to replace the broken glass block quickly and safely. Before hiring, confirm that the repair pro has experience with this specific type of window.
