"The job was necessary due an excessively wet area behind one corner of the house.  When Paul and his assistant started their work, they encountered conditions in the soil that were a good deal wetter than anticipated, which reduced the efficiency of their equipment and made the shoveling and raking significantly more exhausting in the hot afternoon weather.   Nevertheless, they forged ahead without complaint or suggestion to wait for drier conditions and completed the work well after their anticipated quitting time on a Friday for the contract price.   It will take a few weeks to determine if the project cured the problem, but I am optimistic that it will be a success.
