It was wonderful! I called and discussed the project and they said they would be happy to come out and do an estimate for free, but gave me a ballpark estimate and I just asked if they could just schedule the install. They were fine with that and I got on the schedule for the following week....

He arrived on time, and talked to me about what I wanted to do. I had the fan and new power switch already, and just needed a hole cut in the ceiling of the bathroom, and the fan installed and wired. Everything was done as I hoped, and I have been using the fan for over a year.

The new circuits seem to work fine, but the original issue persists—despite spending over $5,000, including $1,000+ on diagnostics. The electrician spent about 45 minutes on the initial assessment, then replaced some wiring and breakers. The problem reoccurred before the second visit, which I reported by phone, but he was unaware of it when he arrived. He did minimal follow-up, blamed CFL bulbs, and later suggested the issue might be with outlet or switch connections—something I believe should have been checked from the start. The issue has since returned again, and after three follow-up calls in three days, I’ve received no response. On the positive side, the crew was professional, worked in a difficult attic space, and cleaned up well. Still, I expected better troubleshooting, communication, and post-service support for what I paid."

It was found my split unit needed a recharge for coolant and I was told that it'd only be 5 lbs of coolant and that this would be priced by the pound (which was reasonable). The bill came and they tacked on a flat charge of $219 for the coolant (this is in addition to the $129 charge to look over the split unit). I felt baited-and-switched. I also contacted them about this, and the answer came down to "This is additional profit for us added onto your bill." Not pleased. At all. Particularly since the coolant in question costs approximately $6 per pound and they only used 5 lbs (one would assume that the $129 charge built in enough profit for labor/licenses/equipment due to the limited time spent working on the split unit. Apparently not). Comfort By Design does excellent work, and they do stand by their work, but just be VERY CAREFUL in finding out what they're going to charge you, particularly if something extra comes up when they're doing a job."
