"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

Welcome to DRAIN MASTER! Home of the "KING OF DRAIN CLEANING", we proudly service the entire Toledo, Ohio and surrounding area, including Southeast Michigan. DRAIN MASTER plumbing and drain cleaning is State Licensed, State Certified, Bonded, Fully Insured and is a Registered Trademark company in the State of Ohio.

"Everything went well except for fixing the hot water faucet in a stand alone claw foot bathtub. The tech, Chris, had trouble getting the valve removed due to corrosion. As a result the valve needed to be replaced. Chris went to a couple of supply places to get a replacement with no luck. He then put the old valve back in, which was now unusable. He told my wife that we shouldn't use the tub because of the bad valve, left the bill and then left. I now had paid $365 and had a tub I couldn't use. I called the owner to see what that plan was. He was very defensive right off the bat telling me that he knew what had happened and that was the risks you take and that things like that happen and it wasn't there fault, all before i could even ask him anything. He said I would need a new faucet. There was no plan for them to follow up with me on what to do. It is unacceptable to me that they pretty much told me that I was on my own from this point on. After going to a plumbing supply house and showing them pictures of the faucet, he said the gold colored faucet I had was a $2000 faucet and the cheapest option would be at least $650. He also told me it looked like a Kohler faucet and that I should contact Kohler to see if they could help, which I did. They were able to send me the replacement valve which cost $77. I was able to install the new valve myself. If I had listened to the owner of Drain Master, I would have been spending at least $650 and then the faucet would not have matched the tub. I think Drain Master should have worked with me to solve the problem and suggest calling Kohler and not just walk away from the problem."

Maumee Valley Heating and Air Conditioning specializes in residential home heating and cooling service and installation. We have been locally owned since 1965. We are a Factory Authorized Dealer for Bryant. We are also members of the BBB and the Toledo Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors Association. If you need a heating or cooling system replacement we offer free estimates and take the time to find out what you want out of your comfort system. We do this by discussing the comfort issues in the home and then properly measuring the home for system sizing. We, of course, provide this service free of charge. We maintain a professional staff of installers that focus on quality and cleanliness. Our installers average 10 years of experience in the HVAC industry. Our company recognizes that air conditioners always seem to fail on the hottest day of the year or furnaces on the coldest day of the year. We want to make sure that you have access to a service technician on those days. We have a service department that is separate from our installation department. Our service technicians are North American Technician Excellence (NATE) members. The bottom line. If you are unhappy in ANY way with our company after a new installation, we refund you 100% of the investment. Additional contact name - Chris Theodorou. Additional email - [email protected] Additional DBA - Maumee Valley Heating Inc.

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

Every type of water heater has its advantages and disadvantages. Understanding those can help you decide the best type for your situation and budget.

Pros

  • Safer than gas or propane

  • Doesn’t require extensive venting systems

  • Lower upfront costs

  • Simpler to operate

  • No pilot light

  • Easier installation

  • More efficient heating than gas models

  • Available as point-of-use (POU) and whole-house units

Cons

  • Slower to heat water

  • Longer recovery time

  • Possibly higher operating costs

  • Doesn’t work during a power outage

  • Costs can increase without a 240-volt connection

Water heaters seldom ever burst, but when they do, you should know the warning signs to protect your home. The biggest sign that your water heater is about to burst is a sulfuric smell. If your home inexplicably smells like rotten eggs, then this could be an indication of a gas leak in your gas water heater. If gas leaks out of the unit, it could ignite and cause an explosion, so you should immediately shut off the gas and call a plumber near you to inspect your water heater.

Converting a gas water heater to an electric one can cost between $870 and $4,100, depending on the installation scope, plumbing and electrical needs, and the water heater model. However, it’s always better to contact a local pro for a more accurate quote. Also, since natural gas is cheaper than electricity in most regions, you should prepare yourself for a higher monthly cost after the initial conversion.

Signs your electric water heater is failing include inconsistent water temperature, reduced hot water supply, longer heating times, or discolored water (rusty or cloudy). Unusual noises like popping or rumbling suggest sediment buildup, while leaks or corrosion around the tank signal structural damage. If your unit is over 10 to 15 years old and experiencing frequent issues, it may be time to replace it.

Most hot water heater manufacturers recommend replacing the anode rod about once every three to five years. Anode rods sacrifice themselves by collecting iron, limestone, and other minerals that would otherwise corrode your hot water heater tank. This abuse wears them out long before your water heater does. Check the rod when you remove it and replace it if more than 50% of the metal has been consumed. Check the rod more frequently if you have hard water or use a water softener.
