I called to have a leak at the base of a urinal fixed. I scheduled an apt 3-4 days out. The guy showed up an hour and 20 minutes late and acted in a hurry. He took a quick look at it and said it needed a new gasket/ring and would take about 2 hours at 135/hour. He couldn't do it that day because he didn't have time. He came back a week later and showed up 25 minutes late. He fixed the leak in 20-25 minutes. However, the urinal doesn't flush right, and has very little water in it after it is flushed. He played with it for a few minutes and it didn't help and he basically said that is how it is. It never used to flush this way. The best part- He charged me for the original estimate of 2 hours for 25 minutes worth of work. He said that it could have taken 3 hours and he would have lost out. I tried to tell him if that was the case I would have paid him for 3 hours. He knew what he was doing was wrong. Heck it took him longer to write up the invoice than it did to fix the leak and he was still in and out in 40 min. I called their office and they are supposed to send someone out again next week to look at the flushing issue. The lady seemed concerned and stated she would get back to me when she talks to the owner.

Update: I tech told me the urinal was fine when it flushed, but was clearly not. He acted as if I was wrong. Said that's how it should be Why would I let him back into my home? It took several flushes to clear the bowl. Another guy came a week later. Made it a little better but still took several flushes to clear the bowl. Another plumbing company fixed the issue and charges me for the time they were there, not an overestimated time.

"You did fail to mention that he was sent directly back to your door from the driveway to immediately rectify the situation. You also failed to mention that you would not answer the phone or the door. If you would like to vent to someone please feel free to call my cell phone. 419-509-0766 thank you and God Bless. Respectfully, Eric"

We were with only one toilet due to a major bathroom remodel. So when our only toilet clogged at 7 p.m., we needed a plumber ASAP. This plumber came at approx 9 p.m., and was timed at being in our house for a total of ONLY 11 minutes ... yet the bill was over $200! This is taking advantage of your customer! He also reeked of smoke and appeared very unkempt/dirty. We will not call them again due to outrageous bill.

We remodeled the bathroom and had removed the toilet tank to strip wallpaper and paint behind.  When it came to re-installing, we just couldn't get it back on right without it leaking.  We called Pipe Doctors and they came out that afternoon.  In inspecting the toilet, they found a crack in the tank.  After discussing this with them, they went right out and got a new toilet (with my permission, of course) and installed it.
They did a beautiful job and they were very neat - put protective covering on the floor, etc.  They removed the old toilet and cleaned up after themselves.  They were only here a little over an hour - including going out to get the new toilet.  One technician stayed behind doing the prep work while the other went for the new toilet.
I was very pleased with their service and the technicians were very friendly.  I would recommend this company to anyone and I will certainly call on them again!

We called him out to fix the water leak. He didn't do any follow-up to check and see where the leak was coming from. Once he left we turned on the sink and it was still leaking. We contacted him to see if he would come out to fix the issue and he said there would be another service charge. I think we were overcharged the first time.

I had a leaking upstairs toilet shut-off valve that was covered under a home warranty policy. The first company they assigned to the job couldn't come out for 2 days so I told them that wasn't acceptable. They sent out the Pipe Doctor the same day. The plumber was prompt, worked quickly and did a nice job. He was very cordial and professional in his work.

Prompt response to call. Came to home assessed the situation fully. Knowledgeable about labor, parts cost. Estimate about 100 higher than actual cost! gasp! Length of time project would take was variable estimate- but again, such a full accurate  assessment decreased the labor time. Highly recommend.

The gentleman came out and looked at the kitchen sink, ordered parts, and never came back. He gave me the number to the company where he ordered the parts from to check on the parts and when I call that number all I get is voicemail.

Overall, I am very disappointed in this company, but I probably only have myself to blame. I should have asked their hourly rate and had the repairman give me an estimate on the toilet repair before I had  him repair it. The total of the repair basically put me into sticker shock when it was completed. I mean $426.50 (I did get $25 off of that for being a first time Angie's List client.) seemed high to me, but I assumed that the parts must have been very expensive. Once the repairman left, I looked at the invoice more intently to get the breakdown of the repair and found that there wasn't one, no hours were listed and no parts pricing listed, just the lump sum.  This really didn't please me because I thought the bill would be itemized. I called the company on the 12th to get a breakdown on the parts and labor. They said they would call me back as soon as their computer was back in service, since it was doing a back up. They never called me back. I gave them every opportunity and finally called them back on the 15th. The lady in the office said she didn't have a breakdown from the repairman, but would get it from him and call me back. She did around 4:45 pm that same day. All she had was 3 hours labor at $135 per hour and $21.30 for parts.
The day of the repair, I was called at noon and told the repairman was on his way. He arrived around 15 minutes later. He left for at least a half an hour to get parts and was finished before 3PM. I guess I had to pay for his travel time also.

Another thing that didn't make me happy was the fact that he left a grease spot on my hallway carpet (took me three scrubbings with Dawn to remove) and greasy fingerprints on my wall and white beadboard in the bathroom. He also left the white tile floor quite dirty, but I did expect to see some of that.
Anyone reading this, please remember to ask questions when you are dealing with a new service company. Don't be afraid to ask what the going rate is, if you have to pay for travel time, and ask for a basic estimate before you have the work done, This could save you some headache later. I wish I had heeded my own words.

Rick arrived promptly, inspected the broken valve, and came up with a

solution that will prevent a repeat of the problem. He checked the whole system for any additional leaks. It was a professional job in all respects.

We had cable tv installed on a Tuesday night.  When they went into our crawl space the installer smelled gas.  We called Columbia gas and they came out and did a test that showed there was a leak.  They would not turn the gas back on until the leak was fixed.  I called Pipe Doctor since they had been rated very well on Angie's List and was able to make an appointment that night for the next day.  The technician showed up 15 minutes early to start on the job.  Within a matter of 15 minutes he showed me what needed to be fixed to stop the leaks and get the gas back on.  He had to reseal every elbow in my 60 year old home which took some time.  He also replaced some old valves that i had on my water heater and furnace along with a valve to the garage and grill.  He was very kind and made sure when he was done working that there was not a mess in my basement.

I found the company obviously on Angie's list and left an e-mail as well as a phone call at around 3 am since I'm a night owl. I got a response immediately upon the office opening from Jenny. She advised a plumber could be out that day between 2-4 and that they would call about a half hour before showing. I actually had to cancel because of an illness so we tried for the next day, but I was still sick. We were finally able to get together the third day.....they didn't give up on me! They are consistent, professional, and very friendly! Dwayne came out with another temporary worker (one they fire when they need extra help for larger jobs) and they were able to get the work done in about a 1/2 or less. It was a pretty hot day out and they were as nice as could be and very professional. I like to ask questions and learn about different things and Dwayne didn't mind filling me in on details about everything:0)

Update 08/14/2012: This is a second report because I need to add something to the first... I heard a girgling in the kitchen sink when I'd flush the toilet upstairs (same floor) so I called Pipe Doctor back since they were just out a few days prior and I even called and left a message after hours. They sent the plumber out that very next day...no hassle at all. I also got a return phone call from the office manager, I believe her name is Jenny. I highly recommentd this plumbing company to people in the Toledo area! They had no problem honoring the Angie's list first customer discount for me that they advertised as well:) The girgling that I've been hearing is a another issue with the pipe draft (not sure of the technical term)...that is located on top of the roof....more than likely the birds are putting leaves in it.

Overall, it went great.
We called on Wednesday. Craig was there that evening. Unfortunately, while checking the cartridge in the faucet, Craig turned off our hot water to the shower.
We called Craig on Thursday to authorize the work to be done and ask that he come and fix the hot water. He said he would, that evening but didn't show up. I called him to inquire about it and he was sincerely apologetic about forgetting to stop by.
Craig showed up on Friday morning and fixed the water pressure, unfortunately the cartridge that was installed had a crack in it and caused the faucet to drip (quickly and loudly). Craig then came out later that evening to fix the cartridge.

All in all, Wagner was very professional and reasonably priced. I would use them again.

He came to the house and looked at the job. He then left to get the parts. It took him longer to get the part then it did to install it. I would have thought that he would have the parts all ready. I don't feel I should pay for the time he spent getting the part. I under stand every job is different, but you would think he would carry a few simple parts with him.
