We really started pursuing this task in earnest towards the end of summer, figuring most of the electricians in our area would have gotten caught up on their backlog of jobs. We found that it was still very difficult to get anybody to return our calls or come out and give us an estimate for the work. When I first called Thee Electric, I left a message and they said they would call me back to arrange a time to come out and quote our job. After a couple of weeks went by, they had not called back, and so I called to see what was going on. They told me they were still working through all of their call backs, and I was still on the list. At that point, we arranged for them to come out to our house a couple weeks later to see what we had in mind. A few days before our scheduled appointment, I had to make an emergency trip out of state. I called Thee Electric to reschedule. I again had to leave a message and they said they would call me back to find a new appointment time. The next call I had from them was from their team member that had shown up to our house for the originally scheduled appointment at the time that I had requested to reschedule. They opted to quote the job without coming into our house to see our electrical panel or our generator. They told me that I would receive a quote via e-mail in a week or two. After another month had gone by, I called to find out where the estimate was. It turns out that they sent it to the wrong e-mail address. They had misspelled my last name which caused it to get misdirected. I'll admit that that was an easy and honest mistake, but Thee Electric pursued no follow-up phone call when they had not heard back from me, or when the e-mail presumably bounced back to them. A full two months after this whole process started, I finally received a quote from Thee Electric, only later to learn that they sent me the wrong estimate because they forgot to include their labor costs. Their estimate was just a single number with nothing itemized out. When I requested a more detailed accounting, it took another two weeks to receive that. In the end, Thee Electric's quote was literally five times (FIVE TIMES!) more expensive than the estimate we received from one of their competitors. True...Thee Electric quoted us for a true transfer switch whereas their competitor quoted us for a panel interlock. However, many in the business have told me that the two solutions accomplish basically the same thing, one at a fraction of the cost of the other. I would have appreciated that Thee Electric would have at least informed me of the options instead of just quoting me the Cadillac alternative. Regardless of price, Thee Electric's customer service (or lack there of) was enough to steer me away from hiring them to do anything. They seemed so incompetent at running their business, I seriously began to question how good the quality of their electrical work would have been. Likewise, if I was having that much trouble just getting them to quote the job, what would my experience be if I ran into problems down the road with the work they did? Thus, even if their competition had come back with an equal or higher estimate, I would not have opted to hire Thee Electric. We found that it was still very difficult to get anybody to return our calls or come out and give us an estimate for the work. Lenon Electric quickly responded to our initial inquiry call and sent Patrick out in a matter of days to provide us with an estimate. Their estimate was substantially lower than other companies we had dealt with. They provided us with a detailed quote showing specific hardware that would be used. Once we decided to have Lenon do the work, we were able to schedule the job with very little lead time. With a crew of three guys on the job, our install was also fast and painless. In under an hour, they had our panel reconfigured, the inlet installed in our garage, and instructed me in how to use the new install. We did a dry run and had the house running off of our generator in no time. I highly recommend the team at Lenon Electric and would not hesitate to have them come back for future jobs. At the time of installation, I asked if the person who was installing the dishwasher was a licensed plumber. Her reply was yes. After 1pm I phoned PHR and asked where the installer was. She said she would contact him and phone me back. She phoned back and said they had problems and that they would be at our home between 2-4p.m. After 4 pm I again phoned PHR and asked where was the installer? She sounded surprised and said she would phone him. She called me back and said they would be there shortly. They arrived between 4-5p.m. In the meantime, my husband and I removed all the ceiling tiles from the basement so they could get to the water and waste lines (directly under the washer). The installer and a young man entered the home. I asked for a business card, he said he didn't have one. I asked him if he was a licensed plumber, he said yes. I then showed him the old Maytag (still under the counter) and the new Maytag sitting next to it in the box. I then showed him the water and drain lines that were connected to the old Maytag, in the basement, directly under the old Maytag, with the shutoff valve. He looked at it, said "This is a big job". I asked him why, and he said the old shut off valve and the approximate 3-4 feet of copper line had to be taken out and replaced with a new PEX line and the valve needed to be replaced, plus the electrical wasn't up to code, meaning I needed to have an electrical box put in. I said OK, get started, it was already 7 hours past when I first expected them to be at my home. He told me he has to ge to Home Depot to get the PEX line. (A licensed plumber with no lines?).He stated that PeX was much more reliable, easier to place in, but was very expensive, but cut the time of installation. So off he went to get some PEX line. He needed about 3-4 feet, but came back with a 10-12 feet of PEX line. (As a side note, he took all of my copper line, plus the copper shut off valve, plus the extra PEX line.) He then put an electrical box in (took him about 10-15 minutes). Then he shuts off the power, moves out the old Maytag, then goes to put in the new Maytag and asks me, "Did ABC sell you the install kit?" I said yes, and that the female office personal had me go through the list of items it contained. He then took the kit and said, "You're missing the very small piece that all Maytag dishwashers need to install them. ABC knows that, now I'll have to go back to Home Depot. So off again he goes to Home Depot. When he comes back he finally gets the new dishwasher in, has a little water put in, hits the discharge button, and then tells me the bill is $600.00. Yup, your reading this right, $600.00. When he left I was so upset I had to go to bed. The next morning I tried the brand new Maytag washer, and no lights, no nothing. My husband and I looked at what little material we had to try to find a reset button, thinking that was all it needed since the "licensed plumber" put it in. We even looked on the internet. No reset button. We phoned back PHR, told them it doesn't work, never was checked out. The plumber (who I still don't have a card or his name), came, went down stairs and said "someone" had plugged it into the wrong socket (which I told my husband to try to reset it by unplugging it and plugging it back in. He then came upstairs, and I asked him to start the dishwasher to see if it will work. Well, he tried, and no it did not work. He said it looked like the front panel was shot, and that wasn't his job, and to call ABC. I phoned ABC, told them the whole story, and they said they would send out their dishwasher repair person, who was Bill Leech Repair Service. They were professional, came when they told us they would be here, and spent 30 minutes going over the panel and then the wiring. Mike (the licensed repair person), came back up and told us the bad news. It was wired WRONG the day before and said he would rewire it correctly. He rewired it correctly, but the panel still did not work. I asked him if by wiring the dishwasher incorrectly, could that have caused the panel to malfunction. He said he could not be sure, but it was a possibliity. For all this aggravation I HAD TO PAY $600.00, not the other way around. Not only that, when PHR jimmied in the new Maytag, he showed me how it was uneven on the left and right sides of the washer. He told us it was our cabinets, but when we had a different installer come with another Maytag for our replacement, HE used a leveler, and the dishwasher is even all the way around AND it works! Poorly. Nice guy. But had virtually zero good advice to give. We absolutely could have accomplished what he had to offer over the phone in about 4 minutes. Instead, they got $65 out of me. They knew it was a Bosch. They said they work on Bosch. I'm not convinced. He screwed with the detergent...

FAQs for solar panel service projects in Pinckney, MI
The average cost to install solar panels is around $26,600, and most homeowners pay between $4,500 and $53,000. Keep in mind that these prices don’t consider the federal investment tax credit (ITC), which can effectively reduce those costs by up to 30%. The price you can expect to pay for solar panel installation depends on the size of the system, where you live, the type and brand of panels, and the labor costs. Get price quotes from at least three solar companies in your area to find the best deal.
In most states, solar installers need to be licensed and insured as solar professionals, although some states don’t have specific requirements for installers. You can use our state licensing tool to check if an installer you’re considering hiring holds the proper licensing. No matter where you live, a member of your solar panel installation company must be a certified electrician to connect your panels to your home and the electric grid.
Does your total price include the equipment and labor?
How long do you expect the installation process to take?
What kind of workmanship warranty do you include with your installations?
Who should I contact if I have a problem with my system after installation?
Do you install the panels or outsource the work to third parties?
Will you file for solar incentives for me?
In most cases, yes, solar panels are well worth the investment. Going solar with your home’s energy is expensive, but, in most states, the panels will pay for themselves by reducing your electric bills. Solar panels don’t produce greenhouse gasses or other pollutants, meaning you can feel good about using this renewable energy source to power your home. Plus, installing solar panels can boost your home value, helping your profit off your next home sale.
Yes, solar panel installation will require permits. The required permits will depend on where you live, as some states and cities have solar-specific permits, while others only require electrical permits to connect to the grid. In either case, it’s best to hire a reputable solar installer in your area, as a representative should handle all of the necessary permitting for you and will include the cost of the permits in your initial solar estimate.
