Kitchen cabinet installation was great, what floor was completed is nice.  Again work was not completed and he requested to be paid upfront.  Still no refund 3 months later.

Solar Panel Service
$2,500
We wanted to upgrade our two solar panels that had been on the garage roof for about 35 years (but still working).  Jeff Sager, owner of Alternative Energy, offered to do the work.  He offered to build the "furnace solar panel" himself and at that time, we had confidence in him.   It took many months (from July  2011 through about September) to finally get the new panel installed.  However, it didn't work properly as a sensor was needed and could not be located by Jeff.   He tried different sensors but nothing worked to turn the fans on automatically..   In the Spring of 2012, we hired another contractor and they put in a new thermostat.  So, the panel finally was working properly.   However, we then noticed that it had some major cracks on the top cover which, in effect, allowed the inside of the panel to be open to the elements.
Our prior solar expert who was visiting MI  came over and looked it over.  He suggested we caulk the cracks but also opined that because of them, the "furnace solar panel" would not last for more than 2 years.  I called Jeff and left messages that the top had cracked and needed to be replaced.  No response at any time.

Unfinished Carpentry, Roofing
$7,300
We hired Jeff Sager of Mitig Home Builders last July to put on a new roof.  He was injured on the job
and hired two roofers to finish the roof.  We had a leak before the roof was finished which was attributed to
caulking.  Then, this year we had a major leak and I called him to fix it in April 2012.    He responded after about a month or 6 weeksand blamed the poor job on the two roofers. In the interim, I called a couple of major roofing companies and three
of them told me the same thing, that the roof should be replaced because it was
of very poor workmanship.  As a short fix, we elected to replace the garage and lower front section of the roof for a
cost of $3000.00 plus.  Jeff offered to try to fix the roof but I already had it contracted before his response in July
2012.   Besides, based on his prior work and poor response to our calls, we elected not to have him work for us again.
In August 2012, I finally reached the two roofers and one told me that they knew they were not putting the roof on correctly but that
Jeff had ordered the poor workmanship. They followed his orders.
Jeff had done other work for us prior to our hiring him for the new roof and we had faith and trust he could do an excellent job.  Such was not the case and we feel we were scammed.
