"Truly appreciated working with David from Stellar Solar through our project! Not only was he willing to work with our tricky family schedule, he iterated through our designs with me several times. As with any large project, unexpected hurdles come up -- and Stellar Solar was with us every step of the way through installation and turning our system on. We're incredibly excited to be using clean energy, and saving money on our monthly bills!"

Harvest Energy Solutions is proud to serve agribusiness customers in your local area. We want to thank our customers for making us the fastest growing, full-service distributor, installer, and integrator of wind energy and solar PV systems in the Midwest. From product selection and site assessment to on-site installation and follow-up maintenance, we partner with our customers through the entire process. Since 2006, our goal has been to assist farmers and ranchers in becoming more sustainable, efficient and independent. At Harvest, we leverage more than 100 years of collective commercial equipment installation experience with a renewed focus on solar photovoltaic (PV) and other renewable system designs and installations. We currently have offices in Jackson, Michigan and Almo, Kentucky with Territory Managers in Kentucky, Michigan, Iowa and Minnesota. In addition we have numerous Harvest representatives in states throughout the Midwest. The Harvest team has a history of over 4MW of designed & installed solar PV systems, with over a megawatt of installs in the last few months. Many of these are right in your area. Recently we have expanded our staff to include a NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) installer. NABCEP is the gold standard for PV installation certification and typically required for sophisticated PV installations. We also have on staff a full-time licensed electrician to ensure that all work meets or exceeds NEC electrical and safety codes, and complies with all federal, state and local building codes, requirements and regulations. Our premium line of products provide best-in-class performance and allows us the flexibility to offer customized renewable resources that best fit your specific needs while leaving options open for future expansion at your site. At Harvest, we have experience with the sometimes-tedious process involved with getting your renewable system online, and assure you that from the first conversation through project completion, we will manage and oversee the complete process. We will become deeply involved with the local municipal authorities and your local utility company. We diligently pursue all potential grants and take on other hurdles specific to your renewable installation project. In addition, we always use our own installation and maintenance crews to ensure a quality job every time. The future looks bright for clean energy and clean energy cost savings. Soon, Harvest will be adding more renewable and energy saving products and services to meet the needs of the agribusiness industry. If you’d like to learn more give us a call or drop us an email. You will be pleasantly surprised how affordable a Harvest renewable energy system can be… and at the same time how proud your family and friends will feel by your decision. As the nation’s largest full-service exterior home remodeler, we are backed by over 1,000+ Angi Super Service awards and more than one million happy customers. Why? Because we treat each job as an audition. An opportunity to prove ourselves to you. And the results speak for themselves. So make your home all it was meant to be with our unrivaled exterior services. Contact us today for a free, no obligation estimate on replacement windows, roofing, siding, doors, or attic insulation.

"On Tuesday, October 28, at about 2:20 p.m., two representatives from Power Home Remodeling came to my home in Madison Heights, Michigan — a white male named Dustin and a white female driving a vehicle with Michigan license plate EYC 5730. They ignored my clearly posted “No Soliciting” sign, which even lists the city ordinance number, and the female solicitor knocked on my door anyway. When I answered, their initial sales pitch was that they had just completed a job in the neighborhood — a tactic that shows if you hire them, they will harass your neighbors to drum up more work. I confronted them immediately and informed them they were in violation of Madison Heights Ordinance §7-68, which explicitly prohibits soliciting at any residence displaying a “No Soliciting” sign — permit or not. The two clearly knew they were in the wrong, because as soon as I told them I was calling the police, they stopped knocking on doors and fled straight to their car a couple blocks away. I followed them to obtain their license plate number and encountered their supervisor, another white male, who argued aggressively, insisting their permit allowed them to ignore “No Soliciting” signs — a completely false claim and a clear display of ignorance of the law. The supervisor’s behavior was arrogant and unprofessional, defending conduct that is plainly illegal under the city ordinance. I have video evidence of the encounter and have filed a formal report with the Madison Heights Police Department and City Clerk’s Office, including the vehicle details and company name. A company whose representatives harass neighbors for business, and whose supervisor defends breaking the law, shows no respect for homeowners, property rights, or the community. Avoid Power Home Remodeling at all costs — if this is how they behave before earning your business, imagine how they’ll treat your neighbors and you afterward."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

In almost every case, solar panels need to be removed to replace roof shingles. In some cases, such as solar installations where the panels are on raised platforms above the roof surface, installers may be able to install new shingles without removing the solar installation. However, to get a quality roofing installation, panels need to come off. Most roofing contractors won’t remove or reinstall solar panels as part of a roofing project, so you’ll need to contact your solar provider.

Solar shingles last between 20 and 30 years, which is about as long as solar panels and standard asphalt shingles last. Their exact life span depends on the manufacturer and the quality of installation. You can increase the longevity of your solar shingles by conducting regular inspections and maintenance and making any necessary repairs as quickly as possible.

In most cases, solar panels are covered by homeowners insurance. However, you’ll need to read the fine print of your particular home insurance policy to ensure you’ll receive coverage for various incidents that could take place. For example, some policies only cover hail damage. Check with your provider to make sure your policy has adequate coverage.

The average homeowner needs around 22 solar panels, but the exact number depends on your monthly energy consumption. Your solar professional should size your array to offset your consumption, meaning you’ll need fewer panels if you use below-average amounts of electricity, or more than 22 if you use above-average amounts of electricity. The number of panels also depends on the output of each panel. The average is around 400 watts, but you might need more panels if you install less capable equipment. Since there are so many variables, you should have a professional size your system.

While solar panels can be a great investment, they aren’t ideal for every roof. For example, some roofs, especially older or structurally weak ones, may struggle to support the added weight, leading to potential damage. Roofs with complex designs, obstructions, or limited sunlight exposure might not provide optimal conditions for solar energy production. Consider these downsides when determining if solar panel installation costs are worth it.
