Zinc roofing develops a patina over time, turning from dark shades to lighter ones. The material, or at least the patina coating, is somewhat self-healing by filling in small gaps and scratches on its own.

If you’re looking for a way to maintain its integrity while saving some money, you should ask a roofing pro if this is an option.
