Small jobs welcome

"Dario and his crew came out and did a fantastic job on our driveway and back patio. They were upfront, honest, and communicated throughout the entire process. The job was completed timely and was very clean. I would recommend this company 10/10."

"G & G concrete seemed like a reputable concrete company, that's why we hired them. However, we were concerned that they didn't order enough crushed concrete that prepares the base before pouring-it looked VERY thin and I questioned this and was told that "it would be close, but they'd make it work" Also, their trucks/equipment leaked an exorbitant amount of oil/grease onto our street-they did not initially clean this up. Another concern was that they damaged some brick on our garage that they did not inform us of. Dirt was not installed along driveway gaps either. I called Greg and left messages regarding the problems/concerns. He finally came out and fixed the brick and power-washed the street (My wife spent a good hour and a half power washing it herself because neighbors were complaining). Greg seems to be a nice guy as well as his crew. He definitely needs to improve on his customer service. Had we known that our street would be left like a disaster zone and that the integrity of his work questionable, we would not have hired him."

"Austin Brick Pavers did a wonderful job of making our front walkway look beautiful.  We had busted up cement blocks as our front walkway.  The crew removed the blocks and installed brick pavers.  When Eric came to give an estimate, he was very helpful with giving us ideas on the design of the front walkway.  He estimated the job would only take 2 days and that was accurate.  Overall, I would recommend Eric and his crew if anyone is looking to get brick pavers installed.  They did a wonderful job and now we have curb appeal!

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

To ensure you hire a reliable and experienced paving company, you should start by finding companies in your area that have at least five to ten years of experience working in your neighborhood. Next, rule out companies with poor reviews online or a series of complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau. Since driveways affect your curb appeal, you should also ask each company for references and pictures of recent work to make sure the work the company does is professional and high quality. Finally, check that the company is licensed and insured.

If you notice minor cosmetic problems with your driveway, you should seal it. Look out for cracks and holes on the surface, faded asphalt or concrete, and stains from oil and other chemicals. Replacing your driveway may be necessary if you’re dealing with significant problems—¼-inch cracks, large potholes, and puddles from drainage issues. The cost to install an asphalt driveway typically ranges between $4,200 and $9,000, significantly more than resealing. Consider talking to a professional to discuss whether resurfacing your driveway—a midway project between resealing and replacing—is a better option for you.

Driveways should be sloped with a minimum 2% slope—anything lower will cause precipitation and runoff to collect. A 2% slope is the equivalent of a 2-foot rise over 100 feet. One quick way to check the integrity of your driveway’s slope: no more than four inches of water should collect on the surface longer than 15 minutes after rain.

Overall, a paver driveway is considered the easiest to maintain because homeowners are able to do driveway repair one piece at a time without impacting the rest of the driveway. Unlike paved options, paver driveways contain individual stones that aren't physically connected. By comparison, you may need to reseal or redo a full asphalt driveway if just one portion sustains a significant crack.

Your city or county will have guidelines about the minimum and maximum width and length of private roads. The average private road is 12 feet wide, and length, of course, depends on your property. Requirements also depend on the amount of traffic and types of vehicles your road experiences. Check with local ordinances before planning a road on your property.
