"It has been over a month since our artificial turf installation was completed and we could not be happier. Engineered Turf Systems installed turf on a section of our yard to serve as a run for our dog. She can run tight circles on the turf without tearing it up as she did on the grass. Plus, no more muddy paws after going outside, and cleanup is so easy! CJ and his crew were communicative, friendly, knowledgeable, and did a fantastic job with the installation. They worked within our fence and around a few sprinkler heads and a small retaining wall. They left our brick paver patio looking better than it was when they started and paid special attention to keeping water drainage away from our foundation. The metro Detroit area experienced historic rain this past weekend and the artificial turf performed exceptionally. We would not hesitate to recommend Engineered Turf Systems for your artificial turf installation. It has been a life-changer when it comes to caring for our dog. Thank you CJ and crew!"

"Zach took an odd job for me to move 7 yards of river rocks for my landscaping. After working his day job he came to our house, brought a friend and literally worked until he could no longer lift the wheelbarrow. He came back the next day to finish and he made sure every stone was in place. He was super polite and did an excellent job. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone."

"George and Nikko arrived early and had their inventory of chimney caps inside the truck. The project was quoted and executed on the spot. The new round stainless steel cap has a wire cage large enough to allow maximum airflow while keeping out bats and vermin. The duct and flashing were also freshly sealed against rain!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Most homeowners put a layer of compact sand or gravel at the bottom of their firepit, but you can also choose more decorative options like fire-resistant paving stones, bricks, or fire pit glass. Dirt by itself can even work, but other materials do a better job of spreading the heat around.

EIFS has several disadvantages, primarily related to cost and moisture. The system tends to have higher upfront installation costs compared to other siding options, and repairs can also be expensive, especially if water damage occurs. A significant downside is its low breathability, which can trap moisture between its layers from either leakage or condensation. This trapped moisture increases the risk of developing mold and rot, which can lead to costly and extensive repairs if not addressed promptly.

Pellet stoves are safer than wood stoves in many ways. They don’t produce as many creosote deposits as wood stoves do, they create less smoke, and the flames are contained, decreasing the risk of any sparks or embers creating a house fire. Pellet stoves also burn more cleanly and efficiently than wood stoves do.

Yes, a faulty or broken light switch can be a serious fire hazard. Malfunctioning switches, often due to loose connections, exposed wiring, or overheating, can cause sparking or arcing. If you hear a crackling, popping, or hissing sound when you use the switch, it indicates live electricity arcing inside, which is a significant hazard that can ignite nearby flammable materials. If you suspect your light switch is faulty, turn off the power to that circuit at the breaker and contact a qualified electrician to remedy the issue.

Attics often contain a mix of insulation, electrical wiring, and other materials that can pose fire risks. That’s why furnaces should be installed in the attic with proper insulation and clearance from combustible materials. Additionally, the furnace should be equipped with proper ventilation and heat shields to prevent the buildup of excessive heat in the attic space. Regular inspections and maintenance are also crucial to identify and address any potential fire hazards.
