"Marsh contracting came in and took our 50+ year old bathroom and made it into a great, functional space. I wish I could explain the awfulness of the "before" situation they were facing. Tile and plaster 3 inches thick; square, heavy bathtub that need to be removed; galvanized steel pipes with years of corrosion blocking water flow. They had great suggestions for improvements and helped us stay within our budget while still taking care of the things that needed to be done. They were prompt and worked quickly; the only hiccup was on our side with a delivery issue, and they were able to work around it and keep the project rolling. Bob and his team were upfront with us on everything, and I felt that I had a clear idea of how the project was moving along, next steps, and the timeline for completion. Communication was never an issue, whether via email, phone, or text. And my super picky Father in Law has even complemented the great tile work!"

Dwight M. Herdrich, AIA Architect is a multi-disciplinary design firm with over 25 years experience in Architecture, Site Planning, Interior Design, Acoustic Design, Graphic Design, Kitchen Cabinetry and Furniture Design. Projects completed over the years include everything from small home additions, to 100,000 square foot Worship Centers, and many varieties in between. A native of Michigan, Dwight moved to Maine in 1993 following a few years in San Diego, California, where he moved upon completion of his Masters of Architecture at the University of Michigan. After working for a few mid-sized architectural firms in Portland, Maine, Dwight joined Houses & Barns by John Libby in 1998, designing many of the beautiful homes that they have built. After an extended hiatus of pursuing projects on his own in Sarasota, Florida, Dwight returned to Maine in 2011, and continued his passion for innovating the New England vernacular, basing his firm in the Portland, Maine region. Dwight moved back to his home state of Michigan in 2019, where he established the firm, and has done several commercial renovation projects and residential projects in the state, as well as still working on projects in Maine. I am still waiting on a meeting to review the changes we want, yet I keep getting emails with their own concept of our project instead of a proper Teams or Google meeting. I was even sent an email to schedule a ?revision if needed,? which makes it feel like I am being blamed for not accepting a design we have never discussed in detail. My time is as valuable as theirs, and the lack of clear communication and follow?through has been extremely disappointing.? I understand that things happen in life, but I also know they have a phone, and a simple call, text, or email would prevent me from wasting my time waiting on them. I have already paid, and it appears I will not receive the final product until after Christmas and New Year?s. I am disappointed.? "

"I provided a detailed review on Yelp before I found that I could post a review on the company website. 2nd time using the company and the owner Jim came out both times. In each instance, he found a solution to the problems that could have led to unneeded additional work and cost if he was not honest and professional. The first time was about 10 years ago when he came out and determined all that was needed was some Freon (it's an old unit). Added the Freon, checked out everything else, and only charged a nominal service fee plus the cost of the Freon (when it was about 1/3rd the cost of today). This time the fan motor failed and he gave instructions over the phone for me to test in order to determine what the problem was and how to keep the condensor cooled down so it would still blow cold air (the house was up to 89degrees while it was 94-96 outside. He calculated the cost for the repairs, but I opted instead to go with a new 5-ton unit to replace the 33-year old 4-ton unit I had. He stopped out, measured everything, came up with a full turn-key quote for replacing the coils, the unit, moving the electrical box to put it back to code, new hoses, pad, re-routing the plumbing on the pump used to carry the condensation away from the furnace, fabrication work on the furnace where the new coils would go. That number never changed. No new "discoveries" of additional unforeseen costs. Cleaned everything up afterward. Came out exactly at 8 am with his intern/apprentice and was done and out the driveway exactly at 1:30pm. The work done on the furnace to replace paneling to fit the new coils in looks like it came with the furnace. All clean looking and fits perfectly with the furnace and blower that sits right below it. Would use this company over and over and will recommend him to anyone looking for HVAC or electrical work. I think he has cut back on doing AC units and furnaces - just because of the physical labor involved with moving the units around, fabrication work, hauling units up and down stairs, etc. But, if you want it done right the first time - then this is who you should try to book for the job. You get the story straight from the beginning of what the problem is, what it will take to do the job right, how long until he can get it booked, and a quote that will be right on point and each component of the cost required. I suppose there are times when he runs into surprises when he gets into a job and finds a problem that was hidden behind panels, walls, or duct work - but I never had that issue."
