We were extremely pleased with the service of United Building. They offered a better value than other companies that quoted the job, but still delivered high quality workmanship. They were prompt, worked quickly, and communicated extremely well through the process. I would definitely hire them again.

It was done in a very timely and professional manner. Great guys to work with!! They stayed within budget, were very tidy!! Cleaned and vacuumed each day. They redid 2 bathrooms last year and I’m working on another project for them next year! I would recommend United Building Services wholeheartedly!!

Very happy with UBS's customer service, timeliness in estimates, and pricing. The crews that show up are professional and always leave AFTER the area is cleaned up. I would recommend them to anyone interested in getting an estimate for a project.

Nick and Tom were awesome to work with. Honest, realistic, totally understood the right way to do accomplish some very difficult construction tasks. We had, historic review committee reviews, City of Detroit Inspections, and Sherwood Forest Association Reviews. The work performed was totally acceptable to all these oversight committees and inspectors. I never felt like I needed to research "how to" and teach United Building Service anything. The employees and subcontractors they used were friendly, timely, and hard working. UBS researched ways to help cut costs, and offered up alternatives for me to review (different stucco boards, second level truss system alternative, side entry door designs, brick choices, color keyed gutters vs custom painted, garage doors). I was never pressured to accept any of these alternatives, just presented with the choice, the cost difference, advantages / disadvantages, and they left me to make a decision. They warranty their work, and have come back to my home to do a few additional small projects. I wish I had discovered this contractor years ago. They made a very heartbreaking accident (tree falling), into a very positive outcome.

Based on their high rating on Angie's List, United was one of three contractors we requested a quote from. Within a couple of days Tom met us for a walk through. He offered sound advice on some of our ideas which was very helpful. We had his proposal a week after we gave them the architect's prints. The proposal was very detailed and specific. United responded quickly to our questions and made adjustments to their proposal as requested. We wanted to use some specific contractors to do the electrical and HVAC and United was very accommodating. (FYI, one of the other businesses we contacted for a quote did a walk through and never gave us a proposal, the job was too big for them. The other business gave us a proposal but it was vague and when we questioned them, we found that there were many things we needed that weren't included in the proposal.) We wanted to keep the original wood floors where possible and have them repaired adding new where required so that the entire main floor matched. They installed cabinets and appliances, tore out windows and rebricked the exterior. They totally remade the entire main floor. They estimated the job would take 4-5 months. Based on the experience of friends and family. we were expecting that it would take twice their estimate so we were ecstatic when they finished in just under 6 months. We recommend United to anyone we talk to that is looking for a contractor. You know that we love their work - we're now having them start on the basement!

I could not ask for a more responsive, reliable contractor. The crew was prompt, professional and curious. They took as much time as needed to talk through what was needed and why, and completed the job with attention to detail. In the rare instance that we were not satisfied with the work of a subcontractor, UBS responded immediately to take a look and made sure that the problems were corrected promptly. They were extremely prompt on the phone and ensured a smooth process with insurance.

Excellent. They took care of all the permits and were very prompt every day. The best part was how clean they would leave the house each day. The last parts of the day were cleaning all the dust and debris.

We love the final results, it is like a new house with much lighter color and brighter feeling. The workers were polite and professional. George was so easy to work with. Anything I asked him to do, he or his workers got it done. The only glitch was the cabinet in the walk-in closet. There was a misunderstanding with Nick. So the cabinet he ordered were not I expected at all. It was a big disappointment because I was so looking forward to wider drawers to store our everyday clothes. With these small drawers, we cannot store much clothes in them. But all in all, they have done a great job!

I really like the results of my renovation.   I cleared most of my belongings before renovation started but I still had a lot of things in the way but they were able to work around them.

Completely redid our half bath. Installed new countertops, sink, faucet, cabinets. They also worked on another bathroom. This provider answers their phone, they were responsive, they show up on time, the completed job on schedule and followed up after their work.

The UBS Holland family were great, as were all their crew. This entire project took about 15 work days even with our add-ons. They (anywhere from 2 to 5 guys, depending on tasks for the day) showed up promptly at 8:00 am every day and worked steadily until 4:00 pm or later. They were quiet, friendly and pleasant to have around and we were very impressed both with their work ethic and their multiple skills. (Some of the crew were also working on three insurance jobs in our neighborhood.) The quality of the work is excellent. I'm already making a list for 2016.

The estimate process was easy.  They called and scheduled. I was not available for the first date, no problem they called back next week and scheduled. They sent two people to do the job.  They did excellent prep, repair, and painting. The plaster work looked so good, I could not even see where they repaired it.  They took extra time to make sure they got all damaged areas in the ceiling, even going farther out into the ceiling than I expected.  It looked awesome. The bathroom work also looked great. They went to the store and matched my paint, and it looked beautiful. When I came home they explained everything to me, and were very friendly. I felt comfortable having them in my home.
They were recommended to me by my plumber, who said they do a lot of follow up work for them. They were great, I would highly recommend.

Excellent project from start to finish. The company owner is honest and great to work with!

This is the second job that United has done for me in my home. Top shelf!  From the estimate to the clean-up I continue to be impressed.

 I had water damage in my basement due to a faulty icemaker line and decided to replace the carpet with vinyl tile. The estimate was fair and the installers started on time and had full run of the house for two days.  Had it not been for the new floor, I would have never known they were there! Neat, clean and trustworthy.  Well done. Highly recommend.

I was very pleased with the quality of work of the sub-contactors and the oversight and attention to detail of the contractor United Building Services.  I was very nervous about this arrangement, but went forward with the project based upon a very positive referral from a close friend.  The whole project was exceptionally smooth, everything happened as the workers and contractors said with no surprises.  All of the crews were very professional and efficient, and cleanup was very thorough.  We are very pleased with our new roof and venting system, and the additional attic insulation has made a HUGE impact on our heating and cooling efficiency, especially our gas bill.  The temperature in our second floor is now more consistent with the rest of the house.  I would recommend this company to my friends and family, and I do plan to contact them again the future for additional work at our home.

EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

I had such a good experience with this company during a previous job that I recommended them to my Condo Association and we went with them for this job.

This was a very small repair regarding loose downspouts but United treated us well by giving a prompt estimate and performing the work in a timely manner.
