"I am so impressed and grateful that Casco Bay Electric sent a super nice electrician (Dave) to the house same day for a septic pump electric install. I was in a bind and they really came through! Highly recommend!!"

Small jobs welcome

"After one of the snowstorms we had this last winter, we found ourselves without electricity. A tree had fallen across our power line, ripping the electric meter off the house and hurling it across the lawn. Perhaps it is needless to say that we felt like the helpless prey of the Universe. On the advice of a friend, we called C. B. Electric. This company proved to be fast and reliable. Their charges were reasonable. They were polite, really nice and reassuring people. They told us when they would be here, and they came when they said they would, which was only a day or two later. They immediately started a search for a replacement meter. When they got that, their work was fast and was performed with what I like to call "snappy exactitude." We absolutely could not have been better pleased. Electricians just don't get better than this."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Upgrading electrical systems in Bath can make your home more comfortable by supporting efficient heating during cold winters and reliable ventilation in humid summers. Enhanced outdoor lighting increases safety during long nights, while updated wiring allows for home office setups and kitchen renovations. Modern electrical capacity also helps maintain the historic charm of Bath homes while supporting today’s technology and appliances.

Helpful?

In Bath, habits like overloading circuits in older homes, using extension cords as permanent solutions, or neglecting to test GFCI outlets regularly can reduce the lifespan of your electrical system. Allowing salt air or moisture to build up on outdoor components also causes premature wear. Scheduling annual home safety inspections and addressing any signs of corrosion or moisture promptly helps keep your electrical work reliable and efficient.

Helpful?

Completing electrical upgrades in Bath offers immediate safety improvements, such as reduced fire risk and more reliable power during harsh winters. Over time, you’ll benefit from increased property value, improved energy efficiency, and easier integration of smart home technology. Modernizing your electrical system also helps historic homes meet current codes, supports electric vehicle charging, and can make your home more appealing to future buyers.

Helpful?

To make electrical projects safer for families in Bath, consider installing tamper-resistant outlets and using childproof covers throughout your home, especially in living areas and bedrooms. In wet or humid spaces, GFCI outlets are essential to prevent shocks. Weatherproof all exterior outlets and use cord organizers to keep cords out of reach. Before starting, always secure the proper permits and follow Bath’s local safety codes.

Helpful?

In Bath, if you notice flickering lights during storms, frequent circuit breaker trips, or outlets that feel warm, these are signs you may need electrical work. Water stains near outlets could indicate both electrical and plumbing issues. For heating or cooling problems, check if the electrical supply is consistent. When unsure, a home safety inspection by a local electrical contractor is the best way to diagnose the issue.
