Best contractors near Somerset, MD

"Amazing work and attention to detail. Gomez Contracting was professional and fantastic to work with. They came on time and cleaned up. Everything was done to our specifications. Will definitely be calling them back for future projects."

"Diaz and his crew recently completed a job for our home. It started off with a basement renovation. They installed several sections of missing drywall and reinstalled a set of windows (that were installed incorrectly by a previous contractor). Then they painted our basement, installed new recessed ceiling lighting, placed new moldings and installed flooring with vinyl plank After the basement was completed they completely redid our kitchen and main living area They installed new cabinets and countertops. They redid all of our upstairs lighting. They removed old nonfunctional heaters and redid the floor moldings. They installed a new tile backsplash for our kitchen. Finally they painted and installed new flooring. I can’t say enough great things about this contractor. I found that he and his work crew are extremely proficient and did excellent work. They had incredible attention to detail. The painting, flooring, lighting, and every single thing was absolutely completed to perfection. The team cleaned up thoroughly every single day, and took great pains to minimize the impact of their work on the rest of the house (by placing tarps, drapes, and plastic doorway partitions). I was very happy that a single contractor was able to do all these various different things and still do them so well. Diaz did have specific companies that he worked with to make the cabinets and countertop but we were very happy with the options that he provided. He even helped us set up a visit in person to look at countertops before we made a final decision. Diaz was honest and upfront, and was extremely reliable. He made multiple suggestions throughout the process to improve the renovation and the function of our home, and I really trusted his input. Diaz is highly skilled as a designer as well as a contractor. Diaz stuck to his estimate. As expected with a project like this, extra things did come up along the way that lead to additional cost. But Diaz was upfront with those additional costs, and they all seemed extremely reasonable. If there was any negative it was that Diaz and his crew were always extremely busy. As a result, communication sometimes took a while, and the renovations took a little time (since they were clearly juggling multiple projects at once). However, I do feel that overall Diaz his crew did the job in a timely manner Most importantly, we were extremely happy with the end result. We feel like we’re living in a new house and cannot recommend Diaz highly enough. If you’re looking for a crew that has great attention to detail, a high level of versatility across various contract jobs, and that is extremely trustworthy and reliable, then Diaz and your crew is the right choice. We will definitely use them again the next time something needs to be done at our home."

"While it is normal for remodeling projects to create chaos and to be the muse of many a horror story, this ended up with a very pleasant end result. We had a complete renovation down to the studs to bring things up to code, which included ripping out the sub flooring and quite a bit of pipes. Parts were ordered and lost and found. Things went on backorder and were discontinued. We fortunately had a fantastic crew. Ismar (the contractor) did an awesome job of making sure that everything was done to spec and built beautifully. He followed our wishes and came back on the weekend and late to be sure the work was done right. The only real challenges were with the design and oversight from the office, between the designer losing our design specs on the first pass and not communicating proactively about delays or back orders, but thankfully these were more annoyance than problem. After a few handoffs, we got Eric E. as project manager, and he saw us through the rest of the project with much better results and only about 30% oversight still needed from us. Overall, we got a great bathroom out of the deal, so 4 stars."

"Mr. Gámez had good suggestions on how to meet our design goals in these spaces. The work was done very professionally and looks fantastic. The work crews were skilled and conscientious and were a pleasure to work with. Workers were on site 6 days a week during the work period and the work was completed in only 5 1/2 weeks. We had none of the usual contractor horror stories, only a very smooth experience. We highly recommend Omar’s for painting and remodeling work of any kind."

"Contractor delivered what he promised on time. Very satisfied with the result."

"Recommendation for General Remodeling Group: Reliable, Quality Work I hired General Remodeling Group (GRG) for two major projects in my home: a kitchen and dining room remodel ($75k in 2016) and bathroom renovations ($55k in 2018). Visvydas and his team delivered dependable craftmanship, and Iâ m still very satisfied with the results years later. Attention to Detail and Consistent Communication From start to finish, Visvydas kept me updated at every step with straightforward communication, making the whole process run smoothly. GRGs attention to detail also stood out they handled each punch list item promptly, completing everything to a high standard without cutting corners. In addition to my home, I also manage contractors at work, and I know this level of thoroughness is rare. Most contractors leave me frustrated with incomplete tasks, but with GRG, everything was done as it should be. For that reason alone, I feel compelled to recommend GRG, they get the job completed 100% without a fight! Skilled Team with Integrity and Flexibility GRG offers a flexible design-build approach, letting clients be as hands-on or hands-off as they prefer whether you want to make only the big decisions or get involved in the details. I was actively involved and appreciated how Visvydas collaborated with me, offering thoughtful advice and the chance to adjust along the way. Others I know who worked with GRG preferred less involvement and were equally happy with the outcome. They also brought in skilled subcontractors from masons and plumbers to electricians who truly know their craft. When I considered having GRG install new exterior doors and windows (over $100k), they recommended a specialist from another company, showing a real commitment to quality over profit. It reminded me of Miracle on 34th Street, where one shop suggests going to the competition to ensure customer satisfaction. Quality That Holds Up Over Time GRGs work included installing and modifying cabinetry that perfectly matched our kitchen design and detailed tiling that elevated our bathroom, and they performed major plumbing and electrical work without issue. We recently sold our home, and GRGs work still looked new. Even the home inspector praised their craftsmanship; the cabinets, tile, and plumbing looked and worked as if they were just installed. Their work clearly added value to our property. If you want quality work that stands the test of time, I highly recommend General Remodeling Group. GRG delivered for my family and friends, and even eight years later, we are grateful we chose them. PS I rarely see a contractor finish every punch list item 100%, but with GRG, it is like discovering unicorns are real. That alone makes them worth recommending."

"After consulting with several companies, I decided to hire ESM Construction LLC for the remodeling of my one-bedroom condo. Their pricing was competitive, and Edgar displayed a wealth of knowledge. He was also exceptionally responsive, addressing all my questions promptly. The crew arrived on schedule, and they were both friendly and professional. They completely transformed the condo, installing brand new flooring, ceilings, paint, a bathroom, kitchen, and appliances. I never felt rushed, and every aspect of the project was completed in a timely manner. Edgar and his team were attentive and patient, never once saying, "No, we won't do that!" Finding honest and reliable contractors can be challenging these days. We interviewed several contractors with five-star ratings, but many seemed overpriced, like quoting $5K for cabinets that only cost $3K depending on kitchen size. Some of the five-star contractors even came off as somewhat arrogant due to their reviews, which raised concerns about potential issues. If you spot even one negative review, take it seriously; we’ve paid a steep price for ignoring such warnings in the past. Edgar's team even rectified mistakes made by previous contractors. From the moment we spoke with Edgar, we recognized his down-to-earth demeanor and extensive expertise in his field. We are thoroughly satisfied with our decision to go with ESM Construction LLC and wholeheartedly recommend this company."

"I was very pleased with the results of Fred Contractor LLC work. The team was always on time and completed the job as it was estimated. The price was very competitive. Fred was easy to communicate with and everything was accomplished as it was agreed on in the contract. I would highly recommend Fred Contractor LLC for your home improvement jobs. I am also planning on hiring him for more projects in the house."

"Contractor did excellent work. Asked before any needed change was done. Over the several days it took to complete re-decking the surface and replacing the stairs , when finished for the day he removed all of the debris from each day so none was accumulated in the yard."

"The team arrived promptly and they were prepared for their work. Many contractors show up for an hour and then disappear for the day. This team worked a full eight hour day! They were very careful and considerate. They cleaned the work area at the end of each work day so I did not have to live with a mess overnight. Their craftsmanship was excellent. They take pride in a job well done. I highly recommend this company."
