"I had a very positive experience with JCB and will definitely call them in the future when I need help. I wanted to completely change my kitchen but I didn’t want to shoulder the expense of new cabinetry. I spoke to Brandon about my vision (which was to have a rustic, distressed look on my kitchen cabinetry with coordinated accent cabinetry around the kitchen) and he gave me a lot of helpful info on the phone, even before I signed the contract. He came out to my home to show me what they could do, to make sure it was to my liking. His estimate also seemed fair. Once the job started, Brandon and Chris and Joe were kind and communicative, letting me know what they were doing each day and checking in for feedback. Because I wanted a unique, distressed look on my cabinets, they created the look entirely by hand based on my description of what I wanted. It was painstaking and labor-intensive, but they worked efficiently. The entire job was done in a week (they worked through the weekend) and I’m thrilled with the result. They also re-painted my walls, in a color that complimented the new cabinetry, and they replaced a light fixture. In addition to be very talented and building me a kitchen that I love, they are genuinely good humans, which is even more important. I’d highly recommend JCB."

I am a company of one and use subcontractors only when absolutely necessary. 99% of the work I take on is performed by me. Smithwright Home Improvement is licensed with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission since 2004 under license# 89597. I've done mostly flat-fee work under contract with the home owner. "I had a dishwasher installed by them and it should have been a 2 person job, but they sent one person. Then they left, without checking their work, and it leaked. They sent someone else, 1.5 hours later, whose direction caused my upstairs bathroom to flood, leak through the ceiling and light fixtures downstairs. Then raised the front of the dishwasher when leveling causing it to damage the door of the brand new dishwasher. What did they take responsiblity for and fix a week later? Lowering the front of the dishwasher...not the damage of the door on the dishwasher, not any responsibility for the flooding, or the fact that it took the whole day for a 3.5 hour at most install. I also did not get the Veteran discount that I was told. The owner said they weren't responsible for the other damage. Bad form..."
