"Having my cabinets refaced by The Contractors Inc was a very satisfying project. The price was reasonable, the service was great, and the results look awesome. There was even a problem with some doors that were mis-measured, which I might not have even noticed. The problem was immediately identified and quickly rectified."

"They had a better price than other companies and better selection of cabinets. I was able to get wood cabinets for a better price than others.  The work took about 3 days to complete."

"We came to Granite Works after a month long fiasco with another supplier which left us with a sink-less and counter-less kitchen.  Arthur, in Granite Works showroom, was great.  He was straightforward about the time line, which would take at least 2 weeks, and we efficiently placed our order.  50% of the estimated purchase price was put down up front, and we signed a contract that this price might change if our estimate square footage was significantly different after measurement.
We couldn't set up our measurement appointment on the day of the order because the scheduler (there is apparently only one employee who can schedule appointments) had already left for the day.  This was around 430p on a weekday.  I called back the next day and set up the appointment for a morning, but had to call back later in the day to have that rescheduled for the same day in the afternoon because it worked better for the family member who was meeting the crew.  Carina, their scheduler, comes across a little haughty on the phone, but I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt.  Maybe it was a bad day, or she just has a lot of self respect.
The day before the measurement appointment I get four phone calls from the company, back to back, which I can't answer because I'm in a meeting.  I called back about an hour later when I was free again to see if there was an emergency.  Carina wanted to confirm my appointment time for the next morning.  I reminded her that we had reschedule this to the afternoon.  Her response was initially "Well, I've already called the crew and told them it was in the morning" and "I called you four times", again with a bit of attitude.  I responded that this was her mistake, and our family member couldn't change their schedule at the last minute. I swear to you I spoke in a calm voice and there was no name calling, just firmly insisted that she needed to fix the mistake which she eventually agreed to do.  The measurement went off without a hitch, and we weren't told that the square footage was different from our estimate.
Our install day finally arrived (now for us over a month and a half without a sink or counters (washing dishes with a hose and in the bathroom sink), and the same family member calls me at work to say that they cut the sink surround wrong (there was an overhanging edge and we had requested flush) and one of the corners was rounded when we wanted all square corners.  My husband spoke to the installer on the phone, who told him that this is want people want when they get an undermount sink, and the corner that was different from all the other corners in the kitchen was in a throughway and "had" to be cut that way.  It isn't, and it doesn't.  I had specifically discussed these points with Arthur on the day of order and was not unclear about what we wanted.  My husband had to call the installer's manager to get them to take the counters back and fix them, further delaying our install by a week.
I was pretty upset, more by how the situation was handled than that a mistake had occured.  They made a mistake and tried to tell us that this is what we really wanted.  I called that day to ask what sort of discount we would be getting for their error and the delay in our install.  I reached Carina, who put me through to a manager, who then said I had to talk to the general manager who had conveniently already left for the day (this was a Friday around 330pm). Maybe he took off early for a long weekend, but I couldn't help but wonder if he just didn't want to talk to me.  I was told I had to call back on Monday when he was in again. Better customer service would have offered to leave a message for him and have him call me, instead.
After a weekend of fuming my husband convinced me to just go through with the install and get it over with.  On Wednesday the day finally arrived.  I get a call at work from the family member to say that the bill was now $200 more than the original quote.  ????  We weren't told after measurement that there would be a difference.  I was livid;  we were trying to be understanding even though our order was messed up, and here on the day of install they are charging us more?
Again we had to call to speak to the general manager.  To save you from recounting the entire conversation, he basically said that the extra $200 was because of unforeseen extra square footage, which was in the contract.  I had been told, however, by Arthur, that the price per sq foot changes depending on how much of the slab they use-- we have a small kitchen but they had to purchase a full slab.  I told the GM this, and that I was dissatisfied with how they had handled the mistake.   I didn't raise my voice or call anyone names, but I'm sure I was pretty heated up.  The GM said "I'm not calling your a liar, but I'm sure you weren't told that".  So, essentially, he called me a liar.  He also said that my husband wasn't told that the mistakes made were what people usually wanted. So, he called my husband a liar, too.  Eventually he agreed to take off the $200 price increase as compensation for the "inconvenience".  I guess that's what they call mistakes these days.
On closer inspection, there are faint scratches in our stainless steel sink and a washer for the in-counter soap dispenser is missing.  Granite Works had the (previously unopened) sink in their facility for a week or two, and they opened the package for the faucet and soap dispenser, but I can't  confirm that those weren't pre-existing problems because I didn't inspect them closely before they were opened.
In the end, the work was done the right way and we got a discount for the trouble, but the moral of the story is you have to be firm and ignore the disrespectful customer service in order to have things done the way you want them.

"Fantastic results! My husband and I hired Mega Kitchens for a kitchen and bathroom update in our 22 year old home. We are thrilled with the results. They did not try to sell us more than we needed, their workmanship was topnotch (and we are very particular), and Felipe and his folks were so accommodating throughout the process. The results are amazing- new cabinet doors and hardware, adjustments for new appliances, crown molding, great paint job! We would highly recommend this company and will use them again for our next project!"

"I was very pleased with the work and how the job turned out. I went to different places looking for the exact color scheme I wanted to match my cabinets. When measuring my kitchen the owner said he had the exact piece for me. I trusted his judgement ( tho I was nervous). The countertops were just right! After being in my house for over a year I am happier now than ever with my purchase. The guys that installed them were nice also."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"19Mark was professional and knowledgeable, offering many great suggestions to make the small kitchen work better for us. We ordered new Armstrong cabinets and granite counter tops from him. The whole process only took less than two weeks from start to finish. He was always on time and available to answer any questions that we had. Also, he was offered no complaint when we decided to change some of the cabinets that we ordered. Overall, working with Mark and Creative Surfaces was a great experience and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to redo their kitchen.

Pre Made Cabinets questions, answered by experts

While having an assistant to help ensure safety and to lend a hand is desirable, if someone isn't around to assist, you can install kitchen cabinets on your own. Normal kitchen cabinet installation starts with the upper wall cabinets. If you're working on your own, consider installing the bases first and building a temporary support structure on top of them to help you install the uppers.

It is cheaper to paint kitchen cabinets than to replace them. Painting costs range from $400 to $1,300, based on the size and complexity of the project and the average costs in your area. In contrast, replacing kitchen cabinets can cost several thousand dollars, including materials, installation, and potential modifications to countertops and plumbing.

There’s no strict rule about which way cabinet doors should open, but generally, double cabinet doors should open away from each other. With single doors, you want to avoid having them block your path or swing into  areas where people need to stand. Some kitchens are angled so that cabinet doors may crash into something no matter which way they swing, but the methods above can help prevent damage.

Costs range from $1,500 to $5,000, depending on the number of cabinets and labor.

Typically, a medicine cabinet should be installed about 60 to 72 inches above the floor. This height ensures that it's easily accessible for most individuals while allowing for proper visibility and convenience. However, the ideal height may vary based on individual preferences and the average eye level of the users in your household.
