"Existing plants (azaleas and iris) were moved and replaced without a problem. Carefully worked around old wisteria vine without issues. Wall was installed exactly as expected. Encountered unexpected problems with plugged existing drainage pipes which needed to be replaced. This was done at a minimum of extra cost and the replaced drainage system was better than the one originally in place. This understandably delayed completion of project by about a week which was otherwise on time and within budget. Staff was pleasant, knowledgeable and accessible. I definitely would use them again."

"I worked with the owner of the business, Troy Kornacki, he provided exceptional customer service. He answered all calls and made any adjustments that I requested. I got a deck and a door leading to my deck installed. I love the work. The work was top notch and many of my neighbors have stopped by to compliment and ask who completed my deck."

"Matt was amazing to work with and his work was impeccable. He and his team were professional, courteous and thorough. He took time to explain the job, his price was reasonable and he completed the work as promised. I was so satisfied with his work, I plan to have him come back and build a patio for me. I highly recommend Matt!"

"About 10 or 11 years ago, AC Paving installed a new asphalt driveway for us. Our original driveway was gravel and dirt. We were extremely please with the work and the price. The driveway has held up beautifully through the years, but it was looking like it needed sealant and we had a damaged area where water has frozen and thawed over and over. Today, AC Paving showed up at our home. They were in the neighborhood doing work and they remembered us from years ago. They immediately got to work and now we have a lovely, good as new drive. I highly recommend this company. They do good work, they clean up after themselves, and the owner is always on the job with his crew, seeing to every detail. We will always continue to call them when we need their services. Dawne Miller, Upper Marlboro"

"Fernando with The Paver Boss was very responsive, efficient and kind. He and his team: power washed my house, patio and shed, cleared more leaves and sticks than I'd like to admit, replace some fence panels and hauled an entire trailer full of junk to the dump for me all in 2 days!! Along with other small things like moving some stuff around the yard. I already have more work lined up with them, like gutter and soffit replacement and some concrete work. They are local to Lusby so it's nice to have a reliable company in my neighborhood 😊"

"Not well. The person who bought all the materials and was our initial consultant was usually unreachable. He was never to be seen again after our initial meetings. Our project manager couldn’t get a hold of the sales guy most of the time. The project manager was honest and nice but he had no control over the crew it seemed. The crew only spoke Spanish and usually showed up around 10-10:30 when they actually came. They didn’t check all the goods when they arrived so when it was time to install medicine cabinets they only just found out it was broken. If they would have checked the goods 3 weeks earlier we wouldn’t have had to then wait another couple of weeks to get installed. While they were waiting for the tile to come in all work stopped for weeks when there was so much other work that could have been moving forward. We were given the run around on why the crew wasn’t showing up and doing work. I am not happy with how the grout colors don’t match properly it looks poorly done. The carpet patches were done so poorly that they say they will get someone else to come out and fix it but it’s been weeks since they were finished with everything else and I have heard nothing. We had to inspect every night because we didn’t trust that things were progressing or that they were being finished properly. We had to get them to redo several things like the cabinet door direction and the light fixtures were put in upside down. We ended up with different shower accent tile and it didn’t match the wall paint so they repainted which made things look better. They originally said it would take 3 1/2-4 weeks it took 8 and it’s still not done bc of how they left the carpet. Not happy with how bumpy the project went go with a different company!"

"We were looking into redoing our old deck and got a quote which we thought was reasonable for our large deck. Then for another estimate, we called 7th State Builders. They explained that for the same cost, we could get a paver stone patio (which in the long run is far less maintenance). The owner worked with our budget and the gentlemen who laid our pavers were extremely professional and worked within our wishes. They removed the deck and finished the patio in about a week. Awesome job! After a week or so, it had rain for a period of time and we noticed that a small dip in the patio was collecting a puddle. After a call, they came out and fixed the problem. We would definitely recommend this company for a patio."

Patios questions, answered by experts

A professional can design and construct sunrooms or patio enclosures that meet structural standards, optimize environmental conditions, and integrate seamlessly with existing architecture. This ensures the project enhances home value and provides long-term enjoyment.

If you’re trying to decide between a sunroom and a screened-in porch, the right choice will depend on your priorities. A screened-in porch costs only a fraction of the price of a sunroom, but in exchange, it has much more limited use. A sunroom will add more value to your home, but at a much higher up-front cost and longer construction timeline.

Prefab kits like a small sunroom for around $20,000 or even a basic gazebo roof for as little as $60 can save you big over professional installation. However, you lose the option for customization, and these structures tend not to last nearly as long. As for bigger projects like a deck or patio, you shouldn’t go with the DIY route unless you’re fully prepped with the tools and know-how to get it done right. Mistakes can be frustrating and costly, so choose a pro if you’re looking to eliminate your risk of error.

Yes, porches require foundations. The type of foundation required, however, is determined by the type and use of the porch. For example, a screened-in porch won’t require a new cement foundation. However, if you turn your porch into a sunroom or plan on making it a living space, then chances are you need a foundation that’s more permanent than piers and posts.

Yes, adding a sunroom can increase your home's value, with a return on investment (ROI) ranging from 20% for a screen room to 50% for a three- or four-season room. The amount of value added depends on the design. Fully insulated, temperature-controlled four-season sunrooms add the most value as they can be included in the home's total living space. In contrast, simpler structures like Arizona rooms or solariums typically have a lower return as they don't count as legal living space. A high-quality sunroom can also be an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially those who enjoy gardening. The value may also be higher in warmer climates where this feature is more sought after. When deciding, consider both the potential resale value and the personal value you will get from using the room.
