"The Maids in College Park did an amazing job. They were prompt, professional, thorough, and left our house the cleanest it’s been since we’ve lived here. They followed up after their visit to ensure we were completely satisfied, which we were. They are competitively priced and well worth it. "I've got some really old berber carpet and it's seen a lot fo wear, pets, some leaks, etc. Overall it went well. Hue came out and inspected the stain I had and explained that it needed more than just steaming because it had browned already. He treated the spot and cleaned it and everything looks great now. I had him out a second time to clean the carpets completely and he did a thorough job. I had a few spots that didn't dry well and he came back and re-cleaned those and left fans on it extra time to make sure it dried."

"Elite got our large, old, slightly worn out Persian rug really clean. I had it cleaned because my old dog died on it and there was, sadly, a very unpleasant odor. Not only did Elite get ALL traces of that odor out of the rug, the rug came back looking so shiny and nice. (And it didn't smell like any kind of perfume or scent.) I've had this rug cleaned numerous times and this was the best, hands down. The owner and his helper were very courteous, laid down the carpet and the new pad perfectly, and did everything right on time. Oh, and for a very good price."

"The Garcia's (father and son) were prompt about giving us an estimate and starting the work.  But once they began sanding down, there was little communication.  We had to call them in order to tell them we wanted to pick the stain color.  They didn't bring many choices, and we settled for one.  They only put one coat of stain down and said they put three coats of finishing.  In the end the floors looked a bit faded in areas (as if not enough stain was put down).  They also didn't specify what type of finish (semi-gloss, etc.) and we didn't know to ask.  At the end of the job,  when we took a look around, there were many places where the stain was on our freshly-painted trim.  The job was just done sloppily, without proper care.  The Garcia's came back out with a painter to fix all the spots that were on the walls and trim.  They were very nice and responsive but I think I would have spent extra money (they were the cheapest of three estimates) and went with someone else.  In the end, we went with them because they got good reviews with Angie's List (that's how we found them) so it made me question the recommendations on this website."

Buffing and Polishing questions, answered by experts

Due to the acidity, using vinegar to clean quartz countertops can actually damage them. In fact, doing so can cause discoloration and surface damage in the quartz. While it’s possible to clean other countertops, like laminate, tile, and butcher block, with vinegar, it’s best to stay from this cleaning solution if you have quartz in your kitchen or bathroom.

Like most stones, limestone should be sealed. Its porous nature makes it prone to staining from spills, and the iron in the stone can cause it to turn yellow when exposed to moisture or harsh chemicals. Proper sealing can help prevent these problems and protect the stone's appearance.

Yes, most professionals repair minor cracks and chips as part of restoration.

Quartzite countertops are porous, meaning that liquids can seep into the stone and stain them. You’ll need to seal them before installing and resealing annually, depending on use and stone material. Sealing will help prevent stains and etching. On the other hand, you don’t need to seal quartz and other engineered stone countertops since they aren’t porous.

Due to soapstone's non-porous nature and antimicrobial properties, you don’t need to seal it like other stone materials like marble or granite. However, even though sealing isn't required, it can enhance soapstone's natural stain resistance. Another protective option is to apply mineral oil once per month.
