"Tess was extremely responsive! He quickly diagnosed my pinhole leaks and repaired them. He had to use a little ingenuity in order to make the repairs, as my pipes lay against a wood ceiling strut. He also located another plumbing issue that I may need to keep my eye on. I would definitely hire him again!"

"Recently used Mahon Plumbing for various plumbing needs around my house. As a new homeowner you can be skeptical on what’s behind your walls or in this case pipes. Mahon did an initial sewer line inspection and called them back to swap out toilets and install natural gas in my backyard for a grill and fire table. They were professional, honest, and extremely knowledgeable about all phases of my projects. I would recommend Mahon Plumbing for all of your plumbing needs!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Mandatory permit inspections add waiting periods between rough-in work and final completion. Complex access issues in a Pasadena crawl space, such as moisture damage, extend timelines significantly. Projects involving well pumps require water quality testing, creating a mandatory waiting period before the system clears for use. Winter freezes and summer humidity also disrupt outdoor work, turning single-day plumbing into multi-session jobs.

Helpful?

Older homes in MD often feature galvanized steel supply lines that corrode internally and cast iron drains prone to cracking. Properties built during the 1980s frequently contain polybutylene piping, which requires replacement due to frequent fitting failures. Additionally, the humid climate accelerates pipe corrosion in crawl spaces. Upgrading your plumbing ensures better water pressure and prevents unexpected leaks.

Helpful?

Knowing whether your property relies on a private well or public water dictates material choices and water treatment options. You must confirm your sewer or septic status to plan any drain modifications accurately. Identifying your foundation type, such as a slab or crawl space, helps professionals determine access points. Pasadena residents should also check local flood zone designations before installing new plumbing.

Helpful?

Install anti-scald devices on showers and tubs to regulate water temperatures and protect young children. If your MD home predates 1986, test your plumbing for lead from older pipe solder. Secure all crawl space access points and open trenches to keep pets safe during active work. Direct sump pump discharges away from play areas and install child-resistant covers on collection pits.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Pasadena often skip required permits for water heater replacements or drain work. Another frequent error involves confusing public sewer connections with private septic systems. Residents also forget to winterize outdoor hose bibs or pipes located in uninsulated crawl spaces, leading to frozen lines during cold snaps. Always verify your specific property infrastructure before starting any plumbing.
