Jamie reassured me that his company uses quality waterproofing materials (Wedi) and employs skilled tradesman. Kirk, the plumbing technician, discovered a secondary leak in the piping and was able to correct the issue before shower installation. Steve meticulously waterproofed and tiled the shower in an intricate herringbone pattern. Grout lines are to perfection and no leaks! Jamie kept me informed of every aspect of the project. "DMV was the first of 6 contractors that I had spoken with to completely remodel my kitchen. They were prompt, to the point, and quick to give a design and a quote. I liked their input and ideas, but surfed around for another month, worked with an architect and several other designers, and evetually came back to what DMV had designed from the beginning. (Wish I had skipped the pricey architect!) They gave good advice on things that seemed so simple (cabinet pulls) but were overwhelming when you looked at all of the possible options. The job only took 18 days (though the space was "easy" since my basement is unfinished and they had easy access to move pipes, wiring and ducts. My electric panel also had a lot of space in it and did not require any crazy upgrade.) The only minor delays were my fault as I took some time mulling over a few things. My neighbors commented that the workers were extremely courteous, clean, and quiet and did not disturb them throughout the project. My kitchen renovation did not change the footprint, however, I did move an extrerior door and changed the size and placement of a new window. The project was completed a month ahead of schedule and on budget. Everything was kept clean while in process and I was really not inconvenienced by not haing a workable kitchen very much at all. Javier, Lucas, Alex and John were great at communicating and they were on time or early every day. I highly recommend them."

"While it is normal for remodeling projects to create chaos and to be the muse of many a horror story, this ended up with a very pleasant end result. We had a complete renovation down to the studs to bring things up to code, which included ripping out the sub flooring and quite a bit of pipes. Parts were ordered and lost and found. Things went on backorder and were discontinued. We fortunately had a fantastic crew. Ismar (the contractor) did an awesome job of making sure that everything was done to spec and built beautifully. He followed our wishes and came back on the weekend and late to be sure the work was done right. The only real challenges were with the design and oversight from the office, between the designer losing our design specs on the first pass and not communicating proactively about delays or back orders, but thankfully these were more annoyance than problem. After a few handoffs, we got Eric E. as project manager, and he saw us through the rest of the project with much better results and only about 30% oversight still needed from us. Overall, we got a great bathroom out of the deal, so 4 stars."

"Jerry was friendly, efficient, straight-talking, and didn't try to upsell us. We didn't need (or want) a lot of design input and had a strong sense for the types of tile and fixtures we wanted. Many of the other contractors who came to give quotes pushed design services or strongly encouraged us to purchase low-quality tile/fixtures through their suppliers, but this wasn't the case with S & J. Elias was fantastic--he helped confirm our tiles and fixtures were appropriate before we finalized our purchases, and we appreciated his attention to detail throughout the process."

"A JW estimator, Pedro, came out in mid-July to give us an estimate for the two projects. He was a good man to talk with as he answered questions we had at that time. He gave us a good estimate as to the amount of time the work would take and the cost involved. We set up an appointment for their earliest opening, Aug. 15. The company called us on Aug. 4 and said they had an opening for projects on Aug. 5 and asked if we would be interested in taking the earlier date. We readily agreed, and on Aug. 5, Ever and Rocky came to the house at 8AM to take a look at what was involved in the projects and to get materials needed. The repair work around the air conditioner base took the longest time to perform. It involved the removal of 4" x4" pressure treated wood pieces that had begun to rot and the cutting and mounting of the new pieces to reform the walls of the base. Both worked on this project to get it done quickly because the possibility of rain was forecast. The finished project was great. The design they gave it was an improvement on what had been there previously. All materials to be disposed of were taken care of and the work sight was cleaned up. Next they moved onto installing the downspout. Its placement copied the downspout at the other side of the front porch giving a balanced look to the house. We are very pleased with the finished product. The men were friendly to talk to, answered our questions, and asked us about specifics that we wanted in each area. Again, we have been very satisfied with the quality of their work and will call upon them again when needed."

"I highly recommend John Krause Construction to anybody in need of any level of
home renovation/remodel. They did a wonderful job on my most recent Home
rehab. We started this project on 1/11/16 with a 60 day deadline and they
finished the project in 54 days and stayed on budget. JKC's employees were
courteous and professional making them a pleasure to deal with. All of the
workers were very knowledgeable of their trades and did top quality work and
left the job site clean after each day. In the business of flipping homes, it
is very important to be able to get these jobs done fast and on budget and JKC
was able to do both without sacrificing any quality of the finished product
making them an ideal contractor for use in my line of work and for anybody
looking to do a remodel project at their home.
