Jerry was friendly, efficient, straight-talking, and didn't try to upsell us. We didn't need (or want) a lot of design input and had a strong sense for the types of tile and fixtures we wanted. Many of the other contractors who came to give quotes pushed design services or strongly encouraged us to purchase low-quality tile/fixtures through their suppliers, but this wasn't the case with S & J. Elias was fantastic--he helped confirm our tiles and fixtures were appropriate before we finalized our purchases, and we appreciated his attention to detail throughout the process.

Handyman Services
We have used S&J Painting and Remodeling many times over the past 5 years, most recently (spring 2025) for handyman services. S&J provide services for a full day, so we typically accumulate a few projects. Our most recent project included replacing two faucets, fixing a very loose banister, repairing a hole in the drywall, as well as a few basic jobs, hanging pictures and installing bathroom fixtures. I expected to paint after the drywall and banister were repaired, but they took care of it for me. When replacing one of the faucets they found the supply lines were old and rusty. They went to Home Depot, purchased new supply lines and installed them at no extra cost. While there they picked up some brackets to secure some other loose pipes they happened to see while in the utility room. We really appreciate the extra attention to detail and doing more than we even realized needed done. We are already accumulating new projects. Scheduling and workday communication is excellent.

If you are in need of home renovations or home repairs, S&J Remodeling is an AWESOME company to call on. We are extremely satisfied with their work! Following a hot water heater blowout that resulted in six plus hours of continuously running water, and knee-high water damage in our basement, we were in need of major repairs; S&J Remodeling best fit our request for proposal requirements, of which included basement remodeling, kitchen repairs, and interior / exterior painting and patching. S&J Remodeling’s pricing was competitive, and winning consecutive “Angi Super Service” accolades for 15 years running was definitely a plus!!! Their customer service and genuine friendliness is praiseworthy, certainly a quality seldom found. Stacey and Jerry’s program coordination, task execution management, responsiveness, and professionalism were instrumental in ensuring effective communication with Oscar, the on-site supervisor and myself. The S&J team was a pleasure to work with- from the first engagement to preparation to painting to cleanup. S&J came promptly to the house to do an estimate and they were the lowest of 4 estimates and had the most positive reviews. We scheduled the time to start and 2 painters were there right on time. The service from S & J was fantastic. They really gave me some peace of mind about the damage to my drywall by explaining what they were going to do (instead of just giving me a quote after 2 minutes). Most other contractor were not consultative at all. The actual work that they performed was also amazing. I thought I would still be able to notice some of the water damage after but my ceiling looks brand new.

Everything went well. The painter did a good job and cleaned up after the job was completed. This last room had wall paper, so he had to steam that off before he could prime the wall and paint. I have used them on 2 occasions and would use them again.

I had an egress window installed by another company. The drywall was not part of that company’s scope. The window needed to be finished with new drywall to give it a sill and a finished look. We scheduled the work and they came out and got it done quickly and efficiently.
