"I was so lucky to find a real professional during the beginning of a heat wave. Last Friday, at 4AM noticed the house was hot and the thermostat reading 78 degrees. Call several vendors and the earliest appointment was on July 24. Went to Angie's List and found Grove and Son. Travis answered the phone right away and set the appointment the same day. The AC got fixed and working great. Those guys are awesome!"

"Our service technician was David. He arrived earlier than expected and went straight to work. Our new pump was installed in less than one hour. We were pleased with the work. He came after hours 6:30pm and did not charge an exorbitant fee. He was pleasant and very informative when asked questions. If there was a topic he was not familiar with he answer "I'm not sure". I like reliable companies with professional employees. We had another plumber come earlier and wanted to charge us $452 dollars for a 1/2 HP pump that cost on average $242, $200 for accessories for installation (I paid $276 taxes included for pump and accessories), labor charge to go and pick up the pump and to install the pump. His price $1252. I was told that it was considered an emergency so that is why the price was so high. This was the morning two days after the flood. After we got the pump we called several times and no response as of yet, He's off my list completely. I share this illustration so that buyers can make educated decisions about how best to spend their money. I don't assume that the plumber whose charges were 50% higher than anyone else I called on Angies List. I simply say do your homework and know what is considered a fair price. Extremely knowable on geo-thermal systems, the repairs were made in timely manner at a fair price, my only regret on this geo unit is I should have had Continental install the system in the first place, it’s seems very likely I would not be haveing the maintenance issues."

"A technician was able to come to the town house within 24 hours from the first call. We received the estimate within 48 hours and decided to go with them since they gave us a very fair price and weren't going to charge us for services we didn't need (like ServPro was trying to do). I called to ask a few questions and when the office couldn’t answer a specific question, I was given the cell phone of the technician. He answered his phone on the second ring and explained the process in detail so that I could understand what would happen during the mold cleanup process. We wanted to get an industrial hygienist to do air quality readings before and after the work was performed and they we able to put me in touch with someone who turned out to be awesome (and was less than other hygienists). The work was scheduled within a week and a half of when I called (and then pushed a week later due to my schedule). Originally they thought the siding would have to come down so they could get to the exterior wall (which was gypsum board), but they were able to pull all the moldy material through the inside of the house so the siding stayed up (important during the cold temperatures in Jan and less work for my build back company). A project like this included 3 contractors (American Home Services, the hygienist and the company that rebuilt the wall) and American Home Services worked very well with the other two companies. Sara and Kurt were awesome! I felt that they really cared about me rather than just being a number like I was starting to feel when dealing with the nationally-known big mold remediation/water damaged company (mentioned above)."

"I had called prior to purchasing the certificate to make sure they had a big enough ladder to install the curtain rod and was told yes, but when I went to book the service, was told they don't have one that can do the job. They were polite, but it was disappointing as I was told incorrect info."

"The installation of these items went very well. Kelly was punctual and very efficient. A malfunctioning toilet in a powder room needed to be removed, and a different toilet installed. Also, a new toilet had to be installed in the master bedroom and a new faucet needed to be installed in the kitchen. He was cordial and very willing to explain the approach he was taking with the work. This increased my comfort level a great deal. I consulted with him on the ordering of the toilets and faucet from a design showroom and he passed along the plumber's discount that he received to me. The installation of the faucet also went well. The space that he needed to work in was very tight and the faucet was not easy to install, due to the placement of the faucet hole and its proximity to the kitchen windowsill. However, he was able to complete the installation without any issues. What I really appreciated is that he is very meticulous, takes a great deal of pride in his workmanship, and is very careful to make sure that the work is done correctly. He also cleans away any debris from any areas that he works on. He is respectful of a person's home, which I appreciate. The quality of the work was terrific. He also offered advice on work that I might need to undertake in the future, which I appreciated. I would definitely hire him again (and I have)."
