AES worked with us on a few small changes we requested along the way as well. I felt very comfortable with all the craftsperson’s at work in our home. There was great communication with AES throughout the job. I would use their services in the future."

"We had our master and hall baths completely gutted and rebuilt. We bid the project out to several companies, and DMV was immediately the most helpful. Pricing was very competitive. Luis and the team completed both bathrooms in about 6 weeks - and this was a full demo. The crew was extremely kind and courteous, and worked hard to minimize the mess and impact to our home. One weekend we had a party, and they helped make our home look like there wasn’t a major project in-progress! Craftsmanship was impeccable. The tile work in particular is beautiful - details I hadn’t even thought of were done for me. Like any job, we had some changes to scope (our choice), and some minor hiccups. They were extremely helpful navigating through scope changes, and more than fair on pricing. And on the minor hiccups, they made it extra clear that the job wouldn’t be wrapped until we were satisfied - and that’s what happened. Honestly this experience was a 10 out of 10, and I hope we can have them out for another project soon. Our bathrooms went from blight to bling in 6 weeks - I look forward to getting ready now!"

"This company went above and beyond for my wife and me. We wanted a balcony with steps but we had an HOA to go through. Shaun talked to my HOA several times and even visited the HOA property management company to drop off and speak to them about my build. His two workers showed up each day even on the weekend to get the job finished in a timely manner. The 2 man crew did a phenomenal job with keeping my lawn as nice as they could and even replaced the dirt and bricks they had to dig up for the posts. This was the best experience we have had in a long time with contractors and I thank Shaun and Maryland Remodeling &Design/Build for restoring my faith in contractors."

"Superb! My first remodeling experience. Jim Graves and his team flawlessly managed the entire process from estimate to design to demolition to "build". First rate team for every effort. Jim was engaged at every step of the way, and the foreman was experienced, hard-working, professional, and communicative. Honest, transparent & understandable pricing, and most of all - they know the work. Jim has over 40 years of experience, and it is evident in the pride he takes in his projects. "From start to finish, Eugene and his crew were excellent to work with. Our free estimate was much more concise than the "ballpark estimate" thrown out by other companies. While you should always budget for surprises during construction, our estimate was itemized in detail, and showed what upgrades were available and their pricing. The total price was the best of all of our estimates. They worked efficiently, were always friendly, and cleaned up each night before they left. Eugene stopped by frequently to ensure everything was on track and accommodated my suggestions for minor tweaks throughout the process. I very much recommend them and will use them for future remodeling."

"We write this review as a sigh of relief now that our renovation project with River View is finally complete. The quality of the final work is excellent, and the construction crew, architect, and county inspector were all great to work with. The original crew we worked with, led by Edwin, were so hardworking, friendly, thorough, and fast. That's what really pushed us from 2 to 3 stars. However, the process getting here was frustrating and unnecessarily chaotic. Timeline & Communication Issues: Initial promise: We were clear that the renovation had to allow us to live in our home during construction and be completed before Christmas. Early communication: Our original project manager, Cris, was personable, and early communication seemed fine, if a bit informal and sometimes inappropriately personal. Major miscommunication: Near the holidays, we discovered that the plans submitted included cutting into the roof — something we explicitly said we didn’t want. This contradicted verbal assurances and caused major last-minute changes. Project Management Failures: Poor planning and oversight: Cris and the architect’s plan didn’t align with the construction work. We had to get involved directly with the county to fix errors. Paperwork errors: Incorrect submissions to the county added delays and confusion, which we had to monitor ourselves. Last-minute scramble: We were cleaning up dust on Christmas Eve due to these planning failures. Personnel Turnover & Lack of Handoff: Cris leaves the company: No proper handover to James, the new PM, who was unfamiliar with our project. Crew replaced: The original crew, who were great, were gone; new crew had no context or direction. James leaves: Another handoff with no context — the third PM had no idea about our project or its outstanding items. Escalation mishandled: When we raised our concerns with Kyle, the CEO, the response felt dismissive, with no accountability for the previous missteps. In summary, it's a beautiful end result... but we’re glad it’s over. The process left us frustrated, confused, and frankly, exhausted."

"No show! Poor communication! I found them on Angi and request a quote for a small project. They contacted me and scheduled a site visit for Friday morning, they confirmed the appointment with two separate text messages. I took off work on Friday and they never showed up, they never called, they never texted. After the appointment window, they never answered their phones even during normal business hours."
