Small jobs welcome

"These folks did a great job, from my initial call to them to learn about their low pressure washing system for our house. They did an excellent job detailing the process and setting up the appointment. They came on time, and made a 30 minute call ahead as I requested, and did an excellent job. Am very happy and everything was as promised. Would hire them again for sure."

We use a special proprietary blend of cleaning agents that will not only kill all of the growth, it will greatly lengthen the time required between cleanings. This solution will not harm people, plants, or animals and is not harmful to the roof itself.

"Jake, is quite the professional. He's early, confirms ahead of time, and simply does an excellent job. He pressured washed the house and driveway (and even some spots inside the garage at no additional cost). I would hire him again and recommend him to others."

"This company is professional and performs quality work. I hire them for multiple exterior house projects (lawn mowing, sodding, bush removals, lawn treatments, power/soft washing etc..). Their power/soft washing was excellent as is all their work. I would recommend hiring this company for their services."

"II contacted Mr. Handyman of Anne Arundel & NE PG to have a job done. Mr. Crysler was very responsive to my needs.  He sent out Dennis (a technician) promptly. He showed up on time and explained the choices I had on a new sump pump.  He accommodated my choice, bought the pump and installed it.  He also got rid of a box fan for me.  I was extremely pleased and would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

It is possible to wash your own roof, but we don’t recommend it. First, getting up on any roof is dangerous without proper safety equipment, especially if wetting a metal roof and making the surface slick. Additionally, it’s easy to damage your roof or force water between roof seams if you use a power washer, which can lead to property damage. Hiring a professional roof cleaner will save you time, keep you safe, and ensure that your roof looks new again without damaging it in the process. Plus, roof cleaning is a relatively affordable home improvement project.

The life expectancy of a pressure washer depends on the model, its overall quality, and how well it is maintained. Most pressure washers have a life expectancy rating, typically measured in hours of use. Many models are rated for up to 500 hours, which can translate to a lifespan of around 10 years for a homeowner who uses the machine for about 50 hours per year. If you plan on using your pressure washer regularly, you may want to look for a higher-quality model rated for 2,000 hours or more.

The average cost to professionally clean or pressure wash a deck is around $150, with prices typically ranging from $100 to $600. Several factors influence the final price, including the deck's size, material, condition, and how long it has been since its last cleaning. For a smaller deck of about 300 square feet, you might pay around $100. For a larger deck of 1,000 square feet or more, the cost could be closer to $300 to $400. Decks that are very dirty or haven't been cleaned in years may require more time and special detergents, which will increase the price. The deck's material also plays a role. Wood decks often cost more to clean because they require a gentle power washing technique to avoid damage. Composite decks are typically less expensive to clean, and cleaning a metal deck may cost around $100.

When hiring a professional to pressure wash your home, it's crucial to choose a company that is bonded, licensed, and insured. This protects you from liability if any accidents or property damage occur during the service; otherwise, the cost could fall on you. Before making a decision, vet at least three different contractors. Conduct thorough research by reading customer reviews, looking at examples of their previous work, and verifying the company's license. Before signing a contract, ensure you receive a written estimate that details all project costs. It's also wise to ask potential contractors a series of questions to gauge their professionalism and experience, such as:

  • How many years of experience do you have?

  • What are your credentials?

  • What cleaning methods do you use?

  • Do you have a workmanship warranty and insurance?

  • What is your availability?

  • What is your policy if you damage my property?

  • How long will the job take to complete?

  • How much do you charge?

  • What is your cancellation policy?

  • Do you offer a customer satisfaction guarantee or any additional services?

Yes, you can technically use a pressure washer to remove paint from brick, but it comes with a significant risk of damaging the brick surface. A high-power pressure washer can be fast but may leave the brick looking unsightly. The recommended method is to first apply a chemical paint stripper, following the product's instructions, and then use a stiff metal bristle brush or a pressure washer on a low-pressure setting to remove the loosened paint. Due to the risk of damage, it is often best to hire a professional who can use low-stress methods.
