"Very responsive, extremely knowledgeable, excellent problem solvers. They kind of really solved the mystery of why the generator didn't work that had to do with the electric."

"Lowest price among multiple quotes and significantly more attention to detail and the least visible and least intrusive installation of new wiring from the existing panel. Would definitely recommend and use Mark H. Anderson Electrical Services again!"

Small jobs welcome

"The salesperson that came to look at the job/s was extremely professional. He helped me fix and overhead light and changed all of my kitchen recessed lights during our meeting. The price he quoted was $700.00 less then Mr. Electric. The work was completed the next day. They electricians were great. The only reason I didn't give an "A" on quality is because when they replaced a GFI with a new bright white switch, they left the old dingy ivory switch plate on it. It is a totally eye sore. i would have paid the extra for a new white switch plate. I didn't notice it until they left. I would have certainly said something. Great job over all. I would use again!"

"Electrical USA did a fantastic job of putting our light fixture that had fallen off the wall back on the wall. Denny, from Electrical USA, called as soon as he received the message from Angi. The tech from Electrical USA was at our house within an hour. The tech was professional, polite, and explained in detail what was needed to put the light fixture back on the wall. The job was done promptly and professionally. We would definitely recommend Electrical USA!."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

First, check the current electrical code in your area to ensure spaces you’re considering meet the requirements. After that, your outlet’s location is up to you. If you’re moving it to hide wiring, you may want to move it in a spot that will also be hidden from view, such as behind a media center or table. As long as you meet the spacing guidelines set by electrical codes, you should be able to pick any spot in your home for an outlet.

Yes, California law requires that electricians be licensed by the state in order to do electrical work. However, there is an exception for small jobs valued at $500 or less. In these cases, an unlicensed handyperson is legally allowed to do the work. Limit hiring unlicensed contractors to minor tasks and fixes around your home.

A larger heater requires a larger breaker—unless there’s one already installed. The longer answer to this question is more nuanced. Do you place demands on the heater at the same time as running other heavy-duty appliances like ovens and washing machines? Do you live in an older home that may not have considered the higher electrical demands we have now? Breakers need to be sized at 125% of the load. To find that load, you should call a local electrical pro.

Running conduits through an exterior wall is an effective method for powering outdoor spaces. From gardens to sheds to garages and more, it can be important to have electricity outdoors. Using conduit, which safely covers wires outdoors, is an easy way to get power where homeowners need it.

In the majority of cases, you can replace an outlet with a USB outlet. USB charging receptacles install in the same spot as standard outlets and any electrician worth their salt is more than familiar with the replacement process. Additionally, it’s possible to replace yourself, but only if you have prior experience with your home’s electrical system, as it requires handling of wires.
