Customers say: Terrific value

"I highly recommend Maryland Pro Wash. They power washed my whole house, deck, outside stairwell, driveway, and front steps. Everything is sparkling clean and looks brand new. The price was very reasonable. Tyler and John were true pros.... efficient, careful, on time, and very friendly."

"Outdoor Advantage was very easy to work with....responsive to e-mail communications and adhered to schedule it promised. I rated the quality as "good" instead of "excellent", because there were some areas of the side of the house (down the back stairs to our basement) which were not as clean as other areas it washed, but for the most part, the job was nicely done. I have used this company before and find it very professional."

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

You can power wash your screen porch floors on a low setting to avoid damaging the walls or screens they contact. If you’re careful, you can use a power washer on the lowest setting for your porch screens. However, using a hose with a spray attachment reduces the risk of ripping the screen mesh and works as well as a power washer.

If the exterior walls are not thoroughly cleaned before a paint job, the paint could stick to the grime, creating obvious imperfections along the way. Beyond that, painting over a freshly-cleaned wall just about doubles the lifespan of the paint, from three or four years to seven to ten years.

The answer to how often you should pressure wash your house is the same no matter whether your siding is wood, metal, or vinyl. Plan to do a project like this once a year with occasional hand cleanings in between to remove unexpected dirt—like debris from an especially violent storm or droppings from birds flying overhead.

Whether you need to winterize your pressure washer depends on where it will be stored. If it's kept in a location where temperatures could drop to freezing, any liquid left in the water pump can freeze, expand, and cause severe damage to the machine. To prevent this, you can add antifreeze to the pump. While emptying the machine with compressed air is an alternative, it can be a tedious process and may not remove all the liquid. If you can store the pressure washer in a relatively warm place with no risk of freezing, you won't need to add antifreeze. However, regardless of storage conditions, it is good practice to empty the gas chamber and refresh the oil before storing it for the winter.

This answer is a bit tricky because experts say both. You should apply your cleaning solution from bottom to top, but rinse from top to bottom to avoid streaking. When it comes to multi-story houses, you’ll want to start at the top floor and work your way down, but follow the above instructions for each level as if it were an independent structure, rather than washing the whole house as one unit.
