"Scheduled a telephone meeting. He was late to call me back. I opened up with what I was looking for, and he tried to sell me on something different. I mentioned that I may consider doing some DIY finish work based on what was reasonable. He then quoted me way more than the range I've been quoted by competitors. I told him I was expecting to get more for that price. He then started throwing excuses about engineering costs etc. -Sir, I've been working on my home long enough to the general cost break down. Also - terrible sales acumen. -- He then went on to question my ability to DIY and add value to my own home. Essentially the whole call quickly slipped into arrogance on his part. Much to the tune of "If you even flinch at my ball park number, you aren't the type of customer I am looking for." If you are reading this review, and you are wealthy, do not let this person taken advantage of your ignorance!"

"We had two projects we wanted done – deck and paver patio. We received onsite visits from four different companies, three of which submitted bids for the work. From the time that John K. walked on site, we knew we were working with a different type of company. He spent time to walk through property grading, drainage and helped us customize a deck and patio solution that fit our classic/modern profile and budget. Next he took us on site to a local stone distributor to ensure we were happy with our choices of stone and other materials to be used on the project. John worked with us throughout the design process making several changes along the way to ensure we understood what we were getting, and that his designs fit our needs. John made several suggestions that added additional touches to the project, and surprising did not add to the expense. The end design was more than we had imagined for the space. John introduced us to the project manager, Thomas, who in turn introduced the foremen for the stone work (Rocque) and deck build (Ozman). The deck work started first and Ozman and his team were relentless in their work. The deck was built in less than 2 weeks from ground breaking and would have been done sooner if not for some substantial storms. From excavation to finishing touches they moved quickly while providing high quality craftsmanship. When finished, they left our yard and more importantly, our brand new Trex deck in great condition. We LOVE it! Next John scheduled our patio install. The product arrived on site a couple days before the crew arrived. Once on site they worked quickly excavating the site and moving the excess material to a location of our choosing. The bulk of their time was spent on the fine details beneath the surface which will make a difference for years to come. Rocque and his team are artists with a stone saw. They cut precise circular patterns with ease, and made some tough design elements seem easy. They finished the patio off with matching poly sand and the end result made us want to use the space immediately. We are now about 3 months post closing and have recommended John and his team to several of our friends & neighbors. We feel like the deck and patio are what makes our back yard and have already gotten significant use out of them over this season. John and his team have stopped by to make sure we are still happy with the results and check in on any punch list items – which were few and far between. If you are in the market for a new deck or patio, don’t hesitate to call these guys. They were the best combination of craftsmanship and price we could find, and delivered beyond our expectations. "I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent retaining wall replacement project completed by John Krause Construction (JKC) at my property. After reading positive reviews and receiving an estimate that, although over my budget, seemed reasonable for the work involved, I made the decision to hire JKC. Unfortunately, this has proven to be a significant mistake, and I am left extremely disappointed with both the quality of work and the overall experience. Here are the main issues I encountered: 1. Unprofessional Behavior: The crew exhibited unacceptable behavior while working on my property. Not only did I witness them disposing of bodily fluids on-site, but they were also disrespectful and dismissive. when I raised concerns no response was received. I now smell urine when entering and exiting my garage. 2. Unresponsive Ownership: I have attempted to reach out to the owner multiple times to address these concerns and resolve the issues, but my messages have been met with silence. This lack of communication is incredibly frustrating and has only added to my disappointment. The owner refused to speak on the phone since the owner was made aware of the call being recorded. 3. Property Damage: During the construction process, my property was left damaged in multiple areas. This included e.g., landscaping destruction, equipment damage. Personal crew members vehicles being driven through my yard leaving deep tire marks damage. 4. Subpar Quality of Work: Despite the high cost of the project, the final result does not meet the standards outlined in the estimate or contract. No proper grading was completed. Every time it rains pools of water sits in front and behind the wall. The response received was. “we have passed all inspections.  There will be some water pooling while it is settling still. Plus the fact of the hard rain today, it will happen.” The wall has been completed for 2 months. Given the extensive problems, stress and anxiety I have faced. I do not recommend John Krause Construction."

"I am having a truly unpleasant experience with 7th State Builders. I paid 14,450.00$ deposit in good faith. They were contracted to rebuild my deck, place a roof structure and screen on the deck. I trusted that they would complete the work. Instead, they took my money and one year later had not even started on the project. Not only did they fail to perform the agreed-upon services for the deck, but I was forced to hire an attorney to try and recover my deposit. Which I haven?t yet (over one year). Thus, creating unnecessary expenses to an already frustrating situation. I would strongly advise against using this company. They are unprofessional, uncommunicative, unreliable and clearly not trustworthy. My experience currently has been a complete waste of time, money and emotional energy. Dr. CLARICE BROWN "
