It went very well! I needed the drain line extended for about 10 feet after the job was completed. Barry Gladstone, the owner, came out on the next business day and completed the work at no extra charge. I waited for 2 years to write this review to test the drainage system over 2 complete weather cycles. After all of this time, everything is still working very well. I highly recommend Mr. Gladstone and the Outdoor Connection Inc for outside drainage system work.

We chose The Outdoor Connection because we had seen the high quality of their work done at our church, they were A rated in Angie's List, and they were a local business with many years of experience. They came when promised and were flexible working around the weather (snowfall). They were flexible with the design (during early phase of the work) so we got what we wanted. They cleaned up when complete.

Barry Gladstone did a wonderful job. He is a true professional - he showed up on time, ready to work, and did what he committed to do, in a timely fashion. He also left my yard in better shape than when he arrived by cleaning the sidewalks and removing all dirt and debris when he finished the project. He and his team hand dug a trench that ran along the side of the house to carefully look for pipes (he found three) and wires (he found the ground wire). He also found a large underground tree stump with multiple roots. My neighborhood was built in the 1940's and most houses have additions, so the utility history has not always been reliable. Barry's careful hand and attention to detail prevented problems from developing. He also removed the perennials and grass is such a way that he was easily able to replant after back filling the trench. In addition, Barry volunteered to bring fresh sod to patch bare areas in the lawn. The second day of the job, Barry returned, on time, to repair the cement sidewalk and cut bluestone to repair the stone path way. Both sidewalks look great. All in all, I am very pleased with the work performed by The Outdoor Connection. I would definitely use this company again and highly recommend them for landscape and hardscape projects

The landscaping around the house was overgrown after being in place for 25 years. That was all removed and replaced with new landscaping and a more modern retaining wall. The project came out just as I had hoped and it gave a whole new look to the front of the house. The new patio and retaining walls in the back replaced the old concrete slab. Everything was done neatly and the yard was reseeded where any grass was disturbed. After 2 weeks, all of the plants are doing well and it still looks great.

Barry and his crew performed a very professional job in installing an underground drainage system to divert water away from under our deck to the rear of our property. He was friendly, accommodating, and professional. He finished the job on-time and on-budget. I would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone with a drainage problem.

As always, Barry and his crew worked hard, conscientiously, courteously, and took pride in their work. They were always on the job by 7:10 A.M. Started working immediately. Cleaned up daily and thoroughly when the job was done. This job was started on 7/21 and finished on 7/31. We have had several compliments on the walls; all very complimentary. This is at least the third time we have used this company, and will do so again when we need further landscape or hardscape done.

From the moment Barry, the president of the company, returned our phone inquiry and set up a time to come see our project, until the last handshake good-bye when the job was completed, our experience with The Outdoor Connection staff was perfect in every way. First, Barry came and spent a good deal of time with us listening to our wishes and giving us good suggestions. He brought brochures to show us options and told us where we could go see the pavers before we chose the color and pattern. Barry is so experienced, knowledgeable, and efficient that he gave us a very reasonable bid before he left that day. (That really impressed my husband because none of the other companies that bid the job gave us a bid on the spot!) At the time Barry estimated that it would be several weeks before he could get to the job, but then within a few hours that same day, he called to say that if we were interested in his bid, he felt he could juggle his schedule to work us in the very next week. We were sold! What a hard-working, experienced, knowledgeable contractor! From that moment on, we were met with only the nicest, hard-working crews imaginable. Barry doesn't subcontract so all the crews that came for different parts of the job were his men. They worked hard every day, kept the job immaculate when they left for the day, and did beautiful, careful work. Ed, who lays the pavers, is an artist. The new walk and steps are impressive - more than we even hoped for! But beyond the fine craftsmanship and professionalism of Barry and his team, we can't imagine working with a nicer group of men. It makes us wish we had more walks, walls, firepits, etc to have done by The Outdoor Connection.

After moving into the area we wanted to transform our backyard into something that would work well for entertaining. I contacted The Outdoor Connection, Inc. which I found on Angie's List. Within 24 hours the owner and president of the company Barry Gladstone contacted me. We talked about ideas and he came out to the house and looked at the property. He drew up the plans which were exactly what I had envisioned and got started. The tree's and the elevated garden were put in immediately. Because of weather related issues the actual patio was not started until the spring. They came everyday to work and did not go to another job until my job was done. The two men that came to work at my house every day were very polite and very professional. I picked out everything from the paving stones to the grill. During construction there were some draining issues after a hard rain. Those were addressed immediately and plans tweaked to fix the problem. If I had any questions about anything I could get a hold of Barry. If he did not answer his phone when I called, I always got a call back within a few hours.
It was such a pleasure doing business with The Outdoor Connection, Inc. We have had many family and neighborhood get together in our new back yard. People who saw the backyard before it was done, couldn't believe the transformation. They said it looks like it comes right out of Better Homes and Gardens.

Barry was 1 of 5 provider that we contact back in May when we started to research for our project. From the beginning we notice his professionalism. He accommodate his schedule to answer our questions during our decision time and gave us an estimate which was a par with the other companies but since he was a local company (Perry Hall) and made me feel at ease from the beginning we decided to hire him. He was extremely knowledgeable about the patios and landscaping and helped us choose a great patio design. Our project started on 9/30/2014 with excavation to bury the drainage which was going to be under the patio. These are empty through pop ups. Then they built the footings for the 2 steps landing which were attached to the foundation of the house. These steps were a transition from the kitchen to the patio. Barry took into consideration my elderly parents in its design and make sure that these was a smooth transition for them. They were built with the pavers and bullnoses. Subsequently, they built the patio meticulously tapping between the different layers so the Tech-Bloc would make a great surface. They completed the patio by brushing the pavers with poly sand. After they completed our patio, they grade our lawn and finish the project by installing sod.
During the 5 days of the construction, Barry was on site early every day. He was very courteous and patient during the entire process, as well as his crew. They answer all our questions every day. They clean every single
day before they left. Barry and his crew worked very hard to get our patio and backyard finished on time. We are very pleased
with the result and will not hesitate to call his company again for any addition to our backyard.

Best contractor I've ever dealt with. Attention to service and quality of work was the best! His crew arrived on time and communicated with us for the entire 4 week project. We are very happy with the results and would recommend him highly. Our project was large and the price was very fair given the quality of work received.

I hired Barry after doing extensive research, first online through Angies List, and then by meeting each of the selected contractors at home. He was not the cheapest one, he was not the most expensive one either, but boy oh boy am I glad we chose him. Besides A+ Remodeling who did our deck, I have never had the pleasure to work with contractors with the same level of work ethic and professionalism. Barry was on the job every day with his crew. They all knew exactly what they were doing, and as a side note, I could understand each and every one of them, which was refreshing.
They cleaned up the work site, my driveway, and any dirt that ended up on the street as a consequence of their work every single day before they left. They answered all my questions patiently. They were punctual and polite.
It took 4 days from start to finish. They did not rush the job at any point. They did not cut any corners. They actually went the extra mile whenever possible to make it look as good as it possibly could.
Barry left us with extra sand, and 6 extra pavers of each size. He also left us with a gorgeous patio and doubled the curb appeal of my house from the street with those edges on each side of my driveway.
1/3 of the payment was done at the contract signing, the rest was paid off after completion of the work. I have zero regrets in spending the extra money and going with Barry. It was worth every cent for the quality of the work performed.

It is unbelievable the dedication the owner has to accomplishing the job and the exceptional professionalism of him and his team. Barry worked 12 hours the first day, at least 10 hours the second day, and completed the job on the third day. As someone else wrote "WOW" the finished job is worthy of being in a magazine. The price was more than reasonable and is a reflection of this owner's reputation of being one of the best, if not the best, people and landscaping companies to use. Anyone looking for top quality hardscaping - be sure to contact Barry (owner) for an estimate. We have seen some landscaping his company has done and, it too, looks great.

Barry and crew have done other projects for us. Due to weather delays, current work has not been completed. Fully expect the usual highly professional result; so much so, referred my sister-in-law to him for hardscaping. She also has a contract with him.

The owner was a super nice guy, and came out the same day I called, and gave me a firm fixed price. The gentleman that constructed the wall told me he has been doing hardscape work for over twenty-five years, and it shows!
