OVER 100 YEARS COMBINED EXPERIENCE AS YOU PATIO AND HARDSCAPE EXPERTS! SBC Outdoor Services was founded in 2015 by Brad Crist. Brad had over 15 years of experience in the industry and wanted to create a landscaping company that could hold true to the concept of “quality landscaping.” Ever since then we've been constantly growing as a high-end hardscape, landscape design, and commercial maintenance business. Over the course of our existence, we've earned a great reputation for quality service and we aim to not just maintain our reputation for excellence but to constantly improve it. That's why we only hire the best of the best. Our management team alone has over 30 years of experience in the industry and members of management used to maintain the White House. The rest of our team is similarly qualified and has over 100 years of combined experience. At SBC Outdoor Services we believe that landscaping is an art, not just a skill. We not only teach our employees proper installation methods but also encourage them to take initiative and to completely pour their imagination and skill into their work. Our design and installation divisions make sure that the product will be very functional as well as attractive while our maintenance division employees take great pride in the ongoing beauty of your property.

Outdoor Kitchens
From start to finish, this felt like a partnership. SBC - and everyone they sent to do work - was fantastic. The designer listened and had great ideas, the masonry was beautiful, electric and plumbing were solutions oriented and I actually had fun selecting appliances. The final outdoor kitchen far exceeded our expectations and we are already trying to think of our next project with SBC.

Deck and Porch Service
SBC did a fantastic job building me a new deck and re-paving the patio area underneath. Justin was great in coming out to measure the area and discuss options for both the deck and the patio. Steve's teams did a wonderful job with the work itself. Everything was done exactly as stated and the end product was exactly what I had hoped it would be. The reason for this not being a 5 start review is two-fold. First, all of the work was scheduled at the last minute, with less than 24 hours notice of when the teams would be out to deliver materials or do the work. Luckily this didn't end up being an issue, but it could be difficult if you're trying to schedule explicitly around the project. Second is the difficulty in getting the final piece of work completed, for installing an exterior electric outlet. It took an extra month after the completion of all other work to get that done. If electrical work is required, I'd recommend contracting that externally to SBC.

Deck and Porch Service
SBC did great hardscape work for our neighbors, so we called them when it was time for us to have some work done. They responded quickly and provided a quote to replace a failing retaining wall and gave us options to rehab 2 patio areas full of rotting boards. As part of the work on the retaining wall, it became evident that our porch was a safety hazard and needed to be replaced. SBC immediately shored up the porch, and Steve worked with us to re-do the designs and reallocate materials to rebuild our porch, rehab the patios and keep the costs reasonable, including going the extra mile to get certified so that we could maintain the warrant on our roof. We now have a wonderful, maintenance-free outdoor space. We have a number of other outside projects, and SBC will be our first call.

The hardscape was installed in 2019. From the onset, there were problems with SBC and it's staff: problems with not following design (it is supposed to be a semi-circle - see photos) stairs that had to be rebuilt three times, wrong color posts, failed to insert the post sleeve-skirts, cap stones were not glued, plants were not properly spaced, major damage to my driveway, damage to my solar lights, dumping construction waste on my neighbor’s property, and a sales rep who wouldn't return my calls. The facade of the hardscape developed a major crack months after being built, and again in 2022 (twice within 3 years). SBC designed the hardscape so that all rainwater would be flowing to the front of the retaining wall, causing structural damage to the wall. The owner of SBC, Brad, was aware of the flaw and tried to correct this flaw by installing a drain in front of the wall, but the wall continues to crack. The drain should have been installed in the center of the hardscape, elevating pressure on the front retaining wall. This major project came with a 60-month warranty. However, because SBC wants to skirt its responsibilities, the owner no longer wants to make repairs, and NOW states there was only a 36 month warranty. This hardscape project cost nearly 30K, and in return, I received sub-par workmanship, poor quality, unprofessional conduct, and a patio that continues to crack. Patios, Concrete Repair
We contacted the company and the had an employee come out and look at what we wanted to get done in our back yard. He did the measurements for the bid and provided us with a booklet full of paver options. He told us he would have a bid within the next few days, we waited over a week and the re-contacted the company to find out what the status was. The told us that the bid was sent to us through email, when we told them that we had not received anything they told us to check our junk folder, we did but found nothing. We asked them to re-send the bid, we still have not heard anything from them.

SBC was a breath of fresh air as compared to many of the contracting companies we have worked with, in the recent past, for services. Quality work at reasonable prices, and excellent customer service. Chris Pluemer, Landscape Designer with SBC was the absolute best, who designed a new deck for us based on a detailed meeting with us, and reviewed the HOA and County guidelines, producing several options and drawings for us before we signed a contract with SBC. He went over and above even before we chose to use SBC, including revising the first plans in accordance with feedback from our HOA. Other companies would not even generate drawings for us until we signed a contract with them, which was a problem for us, as we did not want to commit to a contract until we had a visual of the proposed design. Chris's design background was exceptional, and he went out of his way to make what could have been a very basic deck, a design that we have already received many compliments on. The crew was hardworking and personable, getting the job done efficiently and expertly, and the owner even came out to inspect the job personally after the job was done to inspect personally. We have given out their cards in our community, and would not hesitate to use their services again!

Called the Company, was informed that somebody from Sales will stop by. Got an email from the salesperson that they dont come out if the project is below $5000. Would not recommend this business.

They quoted me $7300 for about 170 square feet of paving stones. I had received several offers for less than half that for the wood patio that I preferred, so I did not go with them.

At first everything went very well, the staff was very friendly and responsive. The estimate price was reasonable and we agreed to proceed with SBC doing the work. The owner said he had to come out and redo the estimate before drawing up the contract. He missed his first appointment but after showing up to the second appointment neither he nor his sales staff would return any phone calls. Tried calling them for weeks, even on the personal phone numbers provided by them and only went straight to voicemail. Simply bad customer service, glad money never changed hands.

Spoke with Brad, the owner, and he sent Grounds Maintenance Foremen Chip to look at the job that same day. I had an estimate that afternoon and it was extremely reasonable, especially since I had a short timeframe in which to have the work completed. They promised to be here one week later, showed up on time and expected to be working on the lot for two days, but completed the job the same day due to a looming large rain event. Chip and Brian worked very hard to get the job done in time. They did a fantastic job! I would rate SBC A++ if possible and will definitely have them back for more work.

Great company to work with. We requested an estimate on a 6 foot privacy fence that would keep our dogs from getting out.
The estimate was by far the best out of multiple companies we talked too. They started the job the same week and did an excellent job. They worked with us in installing the fence the way we wanted so we wouldn't have to worry any more about our dogs getting out. Everything was cleaned up when they left. Very professional and efficient. We hope to use them again in the spring for some landscaping we would like to have done.
