"Brian & Austin came today to do my bi-annual maintenance on my Heat Pump system installed by Holtzople Heating & Air Conditioning in 2020. I have never had the pleasure of having such a respectable group of people come to work inside my home in my life. They are very knowledgeable in their field, detailed in their services and clean and professional from the moment they come in the front door until they pull out of my driveway. I would highly recommend Holtzople Heating & Air Conditioning for all your Heating & Cooling needs. They also offer a very affordable bi-annual maintenance contract (Heating & Cooling Season), so no fees are required at time of appointment(s) unless uncovered parts are necessary. Couldn't ask for better service."

"Everything went great. My AC died and it was close to 20 years old so I wanted the whole unit replaced. I have 4 young kids so no AC in the summer was not a pleasant option. The owner came out on site the day we called and was able to have the new unit installed the next day. I have dealt with many HVAC companies in the past as an Insurance Adjuster. These guys exceeded my expectations and were very reasonable on price. I highly recommend using Buric Heating and Air Conditioning!"

"Danny treated me like an old friend with helpful and timely service. It was refreshing. He inspected the unit, found a failed capacitor caused by an add-on Michael and Sons installed last inspection. Danny replaced the failed part, removed the add-on, and I was back in business in less than 30 minutes. I have a new HVAC provider!"

"My experience was fine. I went with this company instead of another company because of the reviews I read on Angie's List. It took them about a half a day to install the air conditioning unit. I think it was 3 workers that came out."

"I couldn't be happier with the service I received from McCrea Heating and Air Conditioning Services of Maryland. Upon returning from vacation on a 100 degree July day, I found my old HVAC system basically dead (90 degrees in my kitchen!) ... Shane immediately came out to provide an estimate, we signed a contract on the spot, and he kindly provided some freon to hold me over until the new system could be installed. Brian and Nick showed up exactly on time to install the unit, used drop cloths to protect my flooring, and were exceedingly polite and professional throughout. I'd highly recommend this organization."

"They did a good job and they cleaned up after themselves. I have no complaints. Tasks performed were brushed and vacuumed all supply vents, removed grills nd vacuumed cold air returns, brush and vacuumed main line to the main unit, and they cleaned the dryer vent. I have three levels in my townhouse. Val and his assistant worked quickly as a team. They were done in about an hour. i used an Angie's List coupon for the duct cleaning. The cost was 229 dollars and the dryer vent cleaning was 35 dollars. They charge extra for over 10 feet for dryer vent cleaning. I was charged the basic rate."

"The replacement of air conditioning system was done smoothly. The salesperson - Adam - explained me all pros and cons of various options, and we agreed on the option which is cost efficient and took into account all my preferences. The installers - Shane and Shon - are nice guys, worked efficiently and have done the job in half a day. They even fixed some part of my heating system free of charge. Overall, very positive impression, highly recommend."

"

we had a leak problem and the tech came and looked over our equipment, fixed the problem and left. It cost us nothing and we have had their home heating service contracts for over 20 years.  They have NEVER ONCE not shown up or not helped and in the two furnace emergencies we had--they were here with in 1hr.

We are very happy.

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

While "dry" mode on your AC can help reduce humidity levels to some extent, it may not be as effective as a dedicated dehumidifier, especially in areas with extremely high humidity or larger spaces. Dehumidifiers are specifically designed to remove moisture from the air more efficiently, making them a better choice for tackling persistent humidity issues.

On average, replacing an AC compressor costs between $800 and $2,300, but it could cost as much as $2,800. There are a few factors that impact the price of a compressor replacement, including the type and size of the compressor, as well as the type of HVAC system and local labor rates.

Yes, you can clean AC coils yourself. Just make sure that the power to your AC system is off before you begin. You’ll need some basic tools and supplies, including a soft brush, cloth, screwdriver, and a commercial or homemade cleaning solution. Cleaning your coils will only cost about $10.

If you’re planning an AC replacement, choosing an AC with a higher SEER rating may save you money in the long run. Tax credits could cover as much as 30% of the job, and you’ll notice smaller utility bills (particularly if you live in a hot climate where you need to constantly run the AC). Generally, you can expect to pay between $350 and $1,500 for each SEER rating increase. Weigh the cost against your typical utility bill to figure out what’s worth it to you.

To diagnose a bad HVAC or AC damper, assess the airflow from your vents. For a manual damper, close it, run your system, and check for airflow. If air is still coming through the vents, the damper is likely faulty and needs repair or replacement. For an automatic damper, turn on your HVAC system and monitor the airflow and room temperature. Signs of a problem include low airflow, a room that won't maintain its set temperature, or a drafty feeling. If you suspect a faulty automatic damper, you may need to hire a professional for repairs.
