"I was really impressed with their professionalism and level of service. I'm a bit of a novice on home projects, and they were able to provide the kind of full service I needed to translate my ideas into reality. They worked efficiently and were very communicative at each stage. They even helped out with a very small, unrelated issue after I had already paid--I asked for help unscrewing a bolt in my toilet to replace a part, and they did that and also had the part I needed to replace, which they put in for free! Very impressed, and I would definitely hire again."

Handyman Services questions, answered by experts

Yes, handymen can offer quick responses to urgent issues like leaks or electrical problems.

Reviewing your contract for termination terms is best when ending a relationship with a contractor. If there is nothing in the contract or you had a verbal agreement, communicate your decision in writing, citing specific reasons. Afterward, pay for the completed work per your original agreement. Remember you want a record of all correspondence in case you need a lawyer later to settle disputes.

Hiring a handyperson offers several benefits. They can save you time and hassle by completing tasks you may not have the time or experience to do yourself. A key advantage is ensuring the project is done correctly, which can prevent future issues and save money in the long run. For projects that pose safety risks, hiring an experienced professional is a much safer option. Additionally, handypeople are often more available for smaller jobs that larger contractors may not have the schedule for.

In most states, handypeople do not need to be licensed to perform simple home repair tasks and smaller jobs. When projects exceed specific cost amounts, however, ranging from $500 in California to $50,000 in other states, some municipalities consider them to be contractors, meaning they need to be licensed. To learn if your handyperson should be licensed to work on your job, contact your local governing body or state contractors’ licensing board before starting any work.

Whether or not you’re moving the hookups or simply replacing your current units, you should hire a qualified appliance pro to install your new washer and dryer.
