"Matt and his team did an excellent job upgrading our electrical panel. He coordinated the work with National Grid, relocated the panel, labeled the circuits and tested all the work. I would highly recommend Dever Electric."

"J accommodated me by giving me an appointment right away. I had the use of only half of my outlets following an electric outage in Brockton on 7/11. When J left all of my outlets were working. He followed up the next day when there was a slight problem with a two of the outlets after he left. I can say that all of the outlets are in good working order. J is a pleasant and patient electrician who arrived on time and explained the problems I was having as well as what needed to be done to fix the problem. I highly recommend J for any of your electrical problems."

"Came on time. Checked out the electrical problem with our clothes dryer and gave me an estimate. He went right to Home Depot to get new wiring and came right back and fixed the problem. Excellent service and will use him again."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

To boost electrical safety in Randolph homes, install tamper-resistant outlets and GFCI protection in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas. Secure your electrical panel and use cord covers to prevent tripping or chewing hazards. Consider placing outlets higher in children’s rooms and adding emergency lighting for winter outages. Upgrading to smart switches and USB outlets can also help reduce clutter and increase convenience.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical work in Randolph, request quotes from several licensed electricians and confirm their credentials. Submit permit applications as early as possible, since approval may take up to ten days. Coordinate with your utility provider for any planned service changes. For older homes, anticipate possible asbestos or lead paint issues, and allow extra time for weather-related delays, especially during New England’s unpredictable seasons.

Helpful?

For a smooth electrical project in Randolph, start by gathering detailed home wiring plans and submitting permit applications early, as processing times can vary. Schedule inspections in advance and coordinate with your utility provider for any needed service upgrades. Consider Randolph’s older housing stock and plan for code-compliant electrical upgrades, especially for safety features like GFCI protection and surge suppression, to meet local requirements.

Helpful?

In Randolph, schedule electrical work if you notice frequent breaker trips, flickering lights during cold months, or outlets that feel warm. Homes built before the 1980s often need panel upgrades or additional outlets. If you’re renovating, adding large appliances, or preparing to sell, updated electrical systems are expected by buyers and insurers. Proactive upgrades improve both electrical safety and home value.

Helpful?

Electrical maintenance in Randolph includes annual panel inspections for corrosion and loose connections, monthly GFCI outlet testing, and checking outdoor wiring after harsh winters. Replace smoke detector batteries every year and the detectors themselves every ten years, as required in MA. For older homes, schedule professional inspections every few years, and monitor surge protection and outlet condition, especially after storms or humid summers.
