"Called Paul to consult on a quick charger for an electric vehicle as well as to replace several outdoor outlets at my home. He went above and beyond to plot out the best and cheapest path from our electrical panel to the driveway in our renovated and added onto â 50â s ranch. The work he did I was quick and quality. We have plans to have him back for more in the spring. Highly recommend!"

"Chris has been to my home twice. The first time was to trouble shoot a circuit breaker that kept tripping, and he was able to isolate the problem to a faulty circuit breaker. The second time was to install a bathroom fan. Both times his work was great, and he was pretty easy to get ahold of, and was good about scheduling. I will definitely be returning to Chris again in the future for my electrical needs, and would absolutely recommend him to anyone else looking for an electrician."

"Matt and his team did an excellent job upgrading our electrical panel. He coordinated the work with National Grid, relocated the panel, labeled the circuits and tested all the work. I would highly recommend Dever Electric."

"I could not be more pleased with DiMasi Electric. We were having an issue with some outlets in our kitchen. The DiMasi team was super responsive from our initial inquiry through completion of the job. As soon as I explained the issue, they knew how to solve it, and when they arrived exactly on time a few days later, had it fixed in an hour. They were also very upfront about pricing and came in well below the estimate they provided us. DiMasi will be our first call the next time we need electrical help!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For electrical projects in Quincy, choose wiring and supplies that withstand coastal humidity and salt exposure. Use corrosion-resistant wiring and weatherproof electrical boxes for outdoor areas. For home wiring upgrades, select materials rated for high moisture environments. Local electrical contractors often recommend weather-resistant outlets and protective covers, especially in basements or near the shoreline, to ensure long-term electrical safety.

Helpful?

In Quincy, leaving outdoor outlets exposed to salt air, using indoor-rated extension cords outside, or overloading older circuits can damage your home’s electrical system. Ignoring tripped GFCI outlets or failing to clean salt residue from outdoor fixtures can lead to early wear. Not scheduling regular electrical safety checks, especially after storms, may also reduce the lifespan of your home wiring and electrical upgrades.

Helpful?

In Quincy, it’s important to schedule electrical projects if you notice flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, or outlets that feel warm or look discolored. Homes with older wiring or two-prong outlets may not meet current safety standards. After coastal storms or before winter, consider a home wiring inspection to ensure your electrical system is safe and ready for Quincy’s unique weather conditions.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical projects in Quincy, always confirm you have the required permits for any work beyond basic fixture changes. Check your electrical contractor’s local experience and credentials, and ask about their familiarity with Quincy’s building codes. If your property is in a historic area, be aware of extra guidelines. Notify neighbors if shared utilities might be affected, and always check underground lines before digging.

Helpful?

For Quincy homes, keep a non-contact voltage tester, GFCI outlet tester, and insulated hand tools for basic electrical safety checks. Weatherproof outlet covers and silicone sealant help protect against coastal moisture. Store heavy-duty, outdoor-rated extension cords and surge protectors for storm season. Having these supplies on hand helps you quickly address minor electrical issues and maintain home wiring safety in Quincy’s changing climate.
