"I called Horizon after moving into a new home in Medway and having no idea what condition the chimney was in. They sent a team out the same day! The guys were great - very friendly and professional. They looked everything over, informed us that one chimney needed to be cleaned but the other did not, and some of the brick work was loose on the fireplace floor. I also requested a chimney cap and they suggested strengthening part of the chimney before installing. They provided an estimate within 24 hours and came out about a week later to do the work. Again, they were completely professional, pleasant and somehow despite cleaning the chimney and doing masonry work, did not create any dust or mess in the house. I was so pleased that I asked them to put us on a yearly schedule for routine cleaning. I highly recommend!"

"Did not receive discount on chimney cap as advertised. The masonry joints were not completely cleaned of loose mortar and repaired. The sealant was put on over bricks and joints that were not thoroughly cleaned of moss. Crown sealer in center of chimney did not cure and washed away -"

"The chimney was swept after 1 year of heavy use. Some creosote glazing was noted, the master chimney sweeper employee threw in a bottle of deodorizer for free."

"Chimney Chap did an excellent job replacing the termination cap on my Vermont Castings gas stove at a reasonable cost. The two technicians who performed the work were very professional and worked hard to overcome some unforeseen installation difficulties. From my initial e-mail to the installation of the cap, Chimney Chap was very responsive. Meanwhile, some other companies I contacted were unresponsive and less interested in performing a small installation project. I will surely contact Chimney Chap, Inc. in the future if I experience any problems with my gas stove."

"These guys cared! through any obstacle that occurred a solution was quickly found to satisfy all!! Clean neat and respectful must be the motto of 5 Star. I highly recommend Jeff and his guy Sean. I had a chimney liner installed in my older home and they took care to leave it better than they found it. Some pointing was done as well at the top of the chimney that needed fix. I now look up with pride once again knowing the guys set me up for the next season change !"

"This is a three-story 100 year old single family home in Medford, MA. We orginally contracted With MacDonalds to install a 7 inch steel liner from the gas boiler to the attic and to rebuild the chimney from the attic floor to above the roof using cement blocks. The total chimney lenth from the cellar floor to above the roof was about 35 ft. The old brick chimney section in the attic, about 7 feet, was not stable(mortar very powdery) and the chimney was also slanted in the attic to avoid going through a main roof rafter(a so-called "witches bend"). When they started to take down the chimney above the roof, the chimney collapsed down to the attic floor with a loud roar! We had to change plans very quickly and decided to install a Hart & Cooley double wall insulated steel chimney from the attic floor through the roof and above the roof and connect that to the new steel liner at the attic floor. We were able to obtain an OK to do this quickly from the Medford Building Department. Rich MacDonald, the owner, responded well to this emergency and got the Hart & Cooley sections quickly and also rebuilt part of the roof around the chimney to accomodate it so we didnt need to bring in other carpentry and roofing contractors which would have been very expensive. Rich was great and I managed not to have a heart attack!"

"Michael was very knowledgeable about what we needed to do for the chimney of our 1915 built house. His inspection showed that we did not need to have the chimney swept and did not need a new liner. His service in fabricating the cap and installing it was excellent. I would recommend him to others."

"What our agreement consisted of: Protect side of house and landscaping, strip roof of house and detached 3-car-garage, replace rotted wood where necessary, install ice and water shield (all the way up to top of roof), install ridge vents and caps and four louvered vents, install drip edges, architectural shingles on pitched portions of roof (steeper pitch than normal), and rubber on flat portions of roof. Replace two pipe boots and flash around chimney. Clean up each day, work every day - weather permitting (the job took about 7 1/2 days), make other related repairs and improvements as necessary to roof, fascia, and gutter system. Answer all of my calls and texts promptly, provide attention to detail. Once the job was complete clean up so that no one can tell that you were there.
I recommend Adail without reservation. He did all that I asked for and more, and earned my confidence and trust. As a business owner I know how hard it is to achieve and maintain an A rating on Angie's List and to provide first class service to each and every new customer. Adail did just that!

"Certified Chimney Prompt and Professional Service! Our recent urgent necessity to replace our boiler heating system exposed the need for chimney repairs for the efficiency and safety of the new furnace system. Jamie from Certified Chimney fully diagnosed the issues and had numerous pictures taken to document the problems. His explanation was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Jamie answered all our questions in a courteous and helpful manner. In communicating with the main office, Jamie worked with George to secure financing for the urgently needed repairs. The chimney liner, cap and masonry work were exceptionally done. Clean up of the roof and yard was above expectations. It was a pleasure doing business with Certified Chimney in a stressful and urgent home repair situation. We will definitely use again and recommend to others needing chimney services! Thank you, Certified Chimney and Jamie!"
