"Diagnosis and repair were straightforward and the talented Mike, who has done other great work for us on our ACs, had a replacement pump in his truck. Swapped over in under an hour. Cost of the repair was quite high, mainly due to very high price they charged for the pump. A Taco pump that I could buy for $175 was priced on this repair at more than $500. I get that it was an urgent situation and I’m happy to pay reasonably for the response but that mark-up bothered me. I called the office, had a long talk with the owner; sadly, she offered no consideration at all. Yes, it’s hard to find and keep skilled techs, but now seems that most HVAC firms have a business model like a car dealer’s service dept, far more corporate, less flexible or customer-considerate."

"Great guy, very knowledgeable and delivers what he promises. I wanted to replace three boilers that showed severe carbon build-up on the units. Jeff explained the carbon build-up was do to lack of make up air being delivered to the space. Even through I had duct work bringing fresh air into the space it was not sufficient. Jeff recommended high-efficiency combo heater / water units with direct vents and introduced me to MassSave for 0% loan and rebates for each unit. I had a difficult situation with a multi-family home trying to replace three boilers and three water heaters simultaneously with cold weather starting to settle in and occupied units. Obviously I didn't want to leave my tenants without heat or hot water. Jeff formulated a plan that would minimize the down time I would be without both, he work diligently to execute that plan and he delivered as promised. "Really a good process from the initial visit for the analysis and quoting of a replacement, to explaining the offer and the benefits and tradeoffs, to scheduling, installation and completion.  The basic work was done in a little over a day and we only lacked hot water for a few hours.  Care was taken to keep everything clean during and after the job.  Rob gave us a fair and complete explanation of what he felt would be best for us.  His quote was not the cheapest but we sensed that he understood best what we were trying to accomplish with this investment.  He explained how the system worked and gave some advice on how to adjust our thermostats to get our two zones to deliver the comfort we sought.  Rob also helped us apply for the rebate from National Grid ($1,200) which came through just as promised.
Since the install was in August the first test was would the hot water be OK.  That was and continues to be excellent; certainly works better than the old system.   Now that cold weather has arrived we have found the house much more comfortable and less drafty.  So far our gas bills seem clearly lower.
We chose Rob's offer over two others, one was from our HVAC contractor that installed the original unit 25+ years ago.  His offer was solid and he really seemed to understand the technology he was selling.  And finally he seemed to be a person we could trust.  At the end the person you do business with needs to be someone you trust since he knows more about the product being sold than you do.  We really trust Rob.
