"Bob Pino did an excellent job on multiple handyman tasks in my home. He responded quickly, was very knowledgeable, thorough, professional and skilled in the work done. He completed smaller tasks and efficiently repaired an entryway ceiling, with a second person assisting to get it done quickly. His workmanship was skilled and he did a great job with numerous small repairs, installed an under cabinet TV and patiently explained pros and cons of different repair options. I recommend him highly."

"Teagan did a fantastic job on our built in mantle and cabinets and we were very happy how they turned out! Teagan communications thought the process from the initial meeting, to gaining a quote and completing the job was fantastic and most appreciated. He was always available and followed through on his promises. I was very happy with Plank and Pine and would recommend them to other home owners."

"James had to remove some sections of rotten wood at the front entrance first and replace with new material before he could remove an old storm door and replace it with a new full view storm door with new hardware. The front entrance looks great and works great. I will call James for any work I have in and around my house as he does excellent work."

"What a terrific company to do business with! We liked our kitchen cabinets, but they were showing wear & tear. Matthew & his team restored our kitchen cabinets for a fraction of the cost of replacing them & did just a fantastic job. They were professional, respectful of our home & did an amazing job. All our phone calls/email were promptly responded to by Matthew & he was wonderful in answering all our questions. The team is Matthew, Manny (Matthew's dad) & John (Matthew's cousin). They showed up right on time & got started immediately & worked diligently until the job was done. They also replaced all the door handles & removed the old counter. We just can't say enough good things about our experience with them & would recommend them in a spit second. Thanks to Matthew, Manny & John, our cabinets look as nice as the day they were installed & the kitchen is now looking like 2018, not 2000!"

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

There’s no strict rule about which way cabinet doors should open, but generally, double cabinet doors should open away from each other. With single doors, you want to avoid having them block your path or swing into  areas where people need to stand. Some kitchens are angled so that cabinet doors may crash into something no matter which way they swing, but the methods above can help prevent damage.

Costs range from $1,500 to $5,000, depending on the number of cabinets and labor.

Like nearly any other upgrade, new and improved kitchen cabinets can increase your property value and make your home more attractive to potential buyers. After all, the majority of home buyers consider the kitchen to be one of the most important rooms in the house. New melamine cabinets can be a big plus, particularly if you select a classic wood grain or another light neutral color that provides a blank slate for other design elements.

Yes, many providers offer design consultations to help optimize and maximize space, functionality, and usage. It is recommended to confirm the availability of this service with your specific installer or contractor.

There are three primary ways to attach upper kitchen cabinets to a wall, and installers may use more than one method at a time. The most common method is to drive screws through the back of the cabinets and into studs in the wall behind. Sometimes cabinets are glued to the wall with strong adhesive. Often a combination of screws and adhesive is desirable. The last way is by hanging the cabinets on hardware brackets that attach to the wall before cabinet installation.
