"David Ladd is good. He worked efficiently and was a pleasure to work with, but I need to change my review. I wanted new kitchen faucets and for him to take out my garbage disposal. He installed the faucets and found that there was a defect in the faucet product, so he came back the very next day, with a new faucet product, took out the defected one and installed the new one. I am updating my review because since the time he has done the work a couple of months ago, I called him several times to fix the faucet in my bathtub, but he never returned my call. Then last Sunday, I called him because the piping that he did fix for me under my sink came apart from the drain and water was all over my kitchen floor. I called him to ask him to call me because I wanted him to fix it since he was the one that did the work in the first place, and I could not use my sink. To this day, a week later, David has never returned my call! I had to hire someone else to come and fix it and now I am spending more money to do something that he should have came back and taken care of in the first place. I am really disappointed in him because I thought he was nice and seemed to care about his work. I mean, even if he was busy, he could still at least give me the courtesy of a return phone call. I am so sorry but I feel that I have to change my rating due to this."

"Wow! Unbelievable! If we ever have a water problem again, Pioneer will be the only waterproofing company that we call. We were getting some water in our basement which has a stack-stone foundation and radiant floor heating. We interviewed three companies and were particularly concerned about a solution that would stop the water without compromising the radiant tubes that were in the floor. Initially, Pioneer recommended a baseboard system that would run along the outside of the wall. Upon inspection, Mike Oliveira discussed a traditional drain to sump pump solution. We reiterated our concern about puncturing a tube in the floor and Mike assured us that he and his team would hand chisel potential problem areas to avoid the tubing. Moreover, this solution would save us roughly $2K and give us a lifetime guarantee vs. a 25 year guarantee on the baseboard system. The team showed up on time, cleared a 50' span of concrete by Noon, uncovered two sections of radiant tubing without puncturing the line, installed the moisture barrier, sump pump and new concrete by 4 p.m. They had to drill through a hefty header board to connect the pump line to an existing drainage line that carries water away from home and that was completed by 5:30 p.m. Mike came back in a week and we tested the fix using free-flow from our sprinkler system -- it worked perfectly. Subsequently we've had some consistent spring rain and absolutely no water in the basement. The master plumber worked efficiently and professionally and the job was completed in a few hours. The cost was determined from a standard table in a notebook but does not take into account the complexity of the job or whether materials are supplied by owner. Since I supplied most of the materials (plumber supplied valves and pipe and drain fittings) the price seemed rather high for around 3 hours work. However, I've had no professional plumbing work done recently and thus have nothing to compare it to. The plumber was very pleasant and professional and the work of high quality.
