"M&L Landscaping Construction is absolutely incredible! You will not regret hiring Leo and his team for your project. I first hired Leo for one job, and after seeing the quality, precision, and care in his work, I immediately brought him back for a second. The first project included pavers, a retaining wall with built-in seating, a garden bed, patio/paver installation, fence installation, and a composite deck with stairs. The second project was for my rental property and involved an insurance claim to repair the facade of the house. That work included installing stone veneers on the front of my home, constructing a new deck with a roof, building a stone wall with fencing, and completing a blacktop driveway. What truly sets M&L apart is not just the beauty and craftsmanship of their work, but the professionalism, organization, and integrity behind it. Leo’s team is respectful of your property, punctual, and incredibly hardworking. They take pride in what they do and it shows in every detail—from layout precision to cleanup after completion. Equally impressive is how Leo manages the business side of things. He’s communicative, transparent, and extremely reliable—qualities that are rare to find in the contracting world. He provides clear timelines, fair pricing, and proactive updates, so you always know where things stand. Having worked with many contractors over the years, I can confidently say that M&L Landscaping Construction is top-notch from start to finish. I was so impressed that I even referred my parents for their driveway paver installation—and, just as expected, it came out beautiful. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, skilled, and professional landscaping and construction team, hire M&L Landscaping Construction. You’ll be glad you did!"

"I hired Boston’s Best Asphalt & Construction to do a pave over of my residential driveway. Tony identified the really rough areas & cut them out & prepared those areas for new asphalt…and then paved over the entire driveway with new asphalt. The crew did an amazing job! I also had them install a 5 footI apron at the end of my driveway. It is red brick framed with salt & pepper granite blocks. Again, the crew did a fantastic job on the apron. They also do many other projects as well. So if you’re looking for a company to repair or replace your driveway, or any construction project, call Tony at Boston’s Best Asphalt & Construction. You will be glad you did! I would definitely hire them again!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Our yard was neglected since last Fall when I was pregnant. With the new baby, the already neglected yard became worse the first half of this year. The yard needed a massive clean-up and regular maintenance afterward. As working parents, wouldn't it be nice if my husband and I can enjoy our weekends with the kid instead of doing yard work?
I called Mark around noon one day and asked for an estimate and he stopped by that very same afternoon! I think the pricing was reasonable given the mess and size of our yard. I like that he did not over sell the work needed to be done, whereas another landscaper told me that he needed to ripe out this and ripe out that to make the yard look nice. I also like the fact that he did not rush into giving me an estimate on regular maintenace as he wanted to get to know my yard better first. So, this review is only about the big clean-up and a follow-up mulching.
The clean-up occurred about 2 weeks after the estimate due to the busy summer season. Mark was very responsive to his email (our preferred mode of communication) during the scheduling. We were not home on the day of the clean-up. Mark gave me an update by phone and told me that he found some poison ivy in a small area of the yard which he had to work around it due to his severe reaction to the plant. He was very apologetic about it on the phone and later in his email. Other than that, the clean up went on.
When I came home from work, the property looked so nice! The random growth and trash on the sidewalk was cleaned up. All the trash that was blown onto our yard, clipping, trimming from the trees and bushes were removed. Before the clean up, I did not like going out to the yard because of the untamed growth and the bugs hidding in it. Now it is so clean and pleasant, and I totally enjoy hanging out there with my baby.
About a week after the clean-up, Mark came back to put mulch on the flower beds and gave the clean yard a finishing touch.
We are definitely having Mark back for regular maintenance!

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

Asphalt is made of aggregate materials (sand, rocks, and gravel) and bitumen, a viscous, petroleum-based, waterproof substance. These materials are mixed together at extremely high temperatures to form asphalt.

Three inches is a great thickness for a residential asphalt driveway that sees minimal to moderate traffic from cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks. However, a thicker driveway can better withstand the weight of a heavier vehicle, such as a trailer or a recreational vehicle. If you drive a heavy vehicle on a thin driveway, you risk cracking and damaging it.

Sometimes, when people talk about asphalt driveways, they’re actually referring to asphalt concrete, which is a completely different compound. Asphalt concrete is asphaltic cement combined with sand or grit. It is significantly more lasting and durable than regular asphalt but also much more expensive. If you’re considering using asphalt concrete, ask an asphalt company for their expert opinions.

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.
