"Ed returned my call promptly. Set a time to meet with me at my home and he arrived on time. He evaluated the problem, did some trouble shooting and resolved the problem very quickly. He and his assistant worked well together and cleaned up after the work was completed. His charge was very reasonable. I will be using his services again in the near future. I highly recommend Edward P. Lackey Electric."

"While I might share a long post, there is much I can share about Harland Electric: Bill Harland is fair, responsive, kind, and effective in the repairs that he and his crew make. When I've called his office and was fortunate to connect with the owner, he was, and I'm sure still is kind enough to be certain to find a way to help. Bill Harland and his employees are among the fairest and effective electricians I have ever hired to fix an electrical problem.Non=Working"

"Called Paul to consult on a quick charger for an electric vehicle as well as to replace several outdoor outlets at my home. He went above and beyond to plot out the best and cheapest path from our electrical panel to the driveway in our renovated and added onto â 50â s ranch. The work he did I was quick and quality. We have plans to have him back for more in the spring. Highly recommend!"

"I could not be more pleased with DiMasi Electric. We were having an issue with some outlets in our kitchen. The DiMasi team was super responsive from our initial inquiry through completion of the job. As soon as I explained the issue, they knew how to solve it, and when they arrived exactly on time a few days later, had it fixed in an hour. They were also very upfront about pricing and came in well below the estimate they provided us. DiMasi will be our first call the next time we need electrical help!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For electrical work in Bedford, select THWN-2 or XHHW-2 wire for superior moisture and temperature resistance, and use outdoor-rated conduit such as PVC or galvanized steel. Install tamper-resistant outlets and AFCI breakers as required for new construction. Whole-house surge protectors are especially valuable due to frequent storms, and sourcing supplies from reputable local electrical distributors ensures compliance with current codes.

Helpful?

The longevity of electrical work in Bedford relies on using materials rated for New England’s temperature swings and humidity, as well as ensuring all wiring and panels are upgraded to support today’s higher electrical loads. Prioritizing AFCI and GFCI protection, weather-sealing exterior components, and addressing unique features in older Bedford homes—like knob-and-tube wiring—are key for safe, lasting results.

Helpful?

Electrical upgrades in Bedford can impact interconnected systems like HVAC, security, and smart home devices. Service panel changes may require coordination with utility providers, and new wiring could affect insulation or plumbing if not planned carefully. Before starting, request a comprehensive home systems assessment and consult with all relevant contractors, then test each system after work is complete to confirm proper operation.

Helpful?

When hiring an electrician in Bedford, prioritize those with experience in local housing styles and familiarity with the town’s permitting process. Confirm they carry proper insurance and bonding, and request references from clients in the area. Ensure your contractor understands local utility requirements and any historic property guidelines, and choose someone who offers clear warranties and coordinates all necessary inspections.

Helpful?

After finishing electrical projects in Bedford, promptly arrange for a local inspection and keep all related permits and documentation. Test all new outlets and breakers, especially GFCI and AFCI devices, and visually check for any signs of moisture or corrosion. Schedule seasonal maintenance before winter and after major storms, and have a licensed electrician review your system every few years, particularly in older properties.
